FLAK 88 and 251 PAK 40 GUN ELEVATION questions XD 21C

Post by tigerrabbit » Sat Dec 13, 2008 1:34 pm

:?:
Hi all,

I am new ti the forum. I have picked up both items upon my visit to the US. From the various sites I have noticed that the 88 gun can elevate. However, the version I have only traverses. It cannot elevate. I know that in the front of the gun, a gun holder keeps the gun in its position, but this one can be easily pushed aside. I have checked the model thoroughly. Am I missing something or do I just have a defect model ? The same applies to the 251 PAK 40 GUN.

Hope that someone can help me out.

For the 88, mine wouldn't elevate until I removed the gun, carefully, from its cradle. Paint had adhered to the elevating teeth and the "catch" beneath the gun. I had tried to forcefully elevate the gun, but was afraid I'd damage it. Removing the gun and slightly shaving the "catch" allowed for relatively free movement. The pistons in the hydraulic cylinders will slide right out.

Yes I did not think it was going to elevate, but I read on the forum that it did. So I simply used force and suddenly it gave and now it works fine, however I did damage it slightly, with one of the side pistons coming away, but I can glue it back sometime. The message here, it is very fragile.

I was given one of these 1:18th 88's for Christmas and had the same problem,Thanks to this post I've got the gun working. RE:Gun Elevation.
My wife gave me this for Christmas (ordered online) today when I opened it,she said.......this is not a toy...its a model.
As far as armor/artillery goes from 21ST this is the best piece they've made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
