What a joke.
Has the Admiral Dauntless exceeded the 21C Avenger for waiting time?
Maybe Admiral can gather up the rioting Hasbro toy workers to build the Dauntless........ although I personally feel that the Dauntless in 1/18, has gone the way of the 1/18 21C B-25.

I can tell you from developing my own collectible display case (a product far less sophisticated than the Dauntless) how ridiculous and annoying these delays are, yet they are real. My case has been "in progress" for 1.5 years now, and delay and delay due to tooling problems due to incompetence at every level. I am not sure what all issues Admiral are dealing with, but I imagine if you take your own frustration and multiply it by 10 you'll get an idea of what they are dealing with. Everyone should mail those guys a bottle of blood pressure pills because I am sure they could use 'em!

I bet the Guys over at AT are pour their blood into this one...and I bet it will measure up to my most strict standards...I am already getting out my magnifying glass and highly detailed pictures of the SBD to start counting the rivets on it...as soon as it is ready for me to buy.

"The North American P-51 Mustang rolled out of production 117 days following receipt of the intitial concept order by the USAAF in 1940.....".
Now before everyone starts yelling, I KNOW that the development of the Mustang was no where near as hard, complicated or challenging as developing a 1/18 th scale Dauntless model in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2000010, but come on...they havent even given us ANYTHING concrete to even hold onto.....except for blind faith!
Starting to wonder if the depictions and stereotypes adopted in "The Sand Pebbles" movie is maybe applicable to modern day China as well....
"....maine schtem schtopwalve...." :?seems impossible to get anything done over there anymore!

I get so tired of hearing this bull from these companies. its tough but not that tough. My brother develops robotics and they come out in less than 18 months. building a robot takes fare more time in conceptual design, engineering, development and final production. lets face facts if they wanted it out it would be out!

Jason was already here a month or so ago talking about this. The Dauntless is going to arrive in its own sweet time no matter how much whining and wishing goes on. If he says its coming I believe him so nothing to do but wait.

The Dauntless is DEFINITELY coming!!! It would have been here already if forum members complaints about inaccuracies with the first prototype had not been taken into consideration and the entire prototype pretty much scrapped. Think about the time and development lost there.
I had a visit with Jason back in October at the Wings Over Houston Airshow and we spent some time looking over The Lonestar Flight Museum's SBD there on display to compare accuracies of their SBD model. They are throwing out all the stops to make this THE best 1/18 model released to date. Believe me, the wait won't be disappointing when you get yours.

Hope you have a physical address to that pumpkin patch because I don't think any of the shipping companies will deliver your Dauntless to you otherwise....c44588 wrote:You guys sound like Linus waiting for "The Great Pumpkin".......
We just need to be sincere and believe.
But don't get me wrong....I've been waiting out here in the pumpkin patch with all the rest of you guys.....

I'll wait for the Dauntless patiently. I believe Jason, and Birddog for that matter that the Dauntless will be released.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I look at Admiral Toys a little differently then the other other guys. Jason has been nothing but upfront with us here, sharing information with us that he did not have to share.
So far every AT aircraft that I own is a very nice representation of the full scale plane. The paint and detail is top quality, really the only complaint I have are the pilot figures they are fugly.
With the changes that AT has made to the Dauntless, the economic situation in the world right now, and the Olympics being held in China this year. I can understand the delays.

I have been looking forward to this release for a couple years now! Would have been my first Admiral plane since it was never planned to done by my beloved 21C!
Seriously though, it was looking pretty sweet and I had planned on getting at least one, these days I might be inclined to buy 2 or 3 so i could make some customs
They could release it tomorrow and it would not be too soon for me!

Whether or not it is taking forever, at least word on the street is that the AT Dauntless is still going to be made! That in itself is one of the more positive reports we have about NEW 1:18 planes, especially considering that 21c is not going to put out anything new for a while...
