Small Scale Military Headquarters

Hey fellas:

First off, all apologies for posting this thread- I am not really a "value" collector- I collect what I like and just don't focus on value. This weekend, my son and I are going to do a GI Joe/ militaria show together and I am thinking about thinning the ranks to make room for new figures/vehicles, etc.

I have sold at shows like this before when I was a little less experienced at all the good online resources and sold some very very rare King and Country pieces for change on the dollar. I am not looking to fleece collectors but at the same time, I want to make a bit of money so that I can expand some of the lines I am more interested in collecting.

That being said- this is what I have- all 21st Century- 1:!8th scale

All Generation 1 Germans and US troops "MIC"- any estimates for price range??

First edition Panther- loose and complete

First edition Sherman- loose and complete

I also have a MIB Dragon 10" (I think) figure of William Wallace- in celebration of the movie Braveheart- I bought it at a comic shop for $30.

Any advice you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

anyone out there got any information regarding current prices on these sets??

The Tiger has the 326 identifier on the barrel and the Panther has 413 on the turret.

Again, any info would be appreciated.

Not sure of the dollar value on the Tigers and Panthers, but I can tell you that ALL the 21st Tigers had the 326 number on them. I thought all the Panther except the last run had 413 for the number too, but the ambush and tricolor may not have a number visible on them. I'll have to look

ps. Value is in the eye of the buyer. But the better the condition, the higher the value.

The better the condition the higher the value...as the General said. Also, generally, German stuff will get more cash than American. I would think you could get around 10 bucks per figure and 50 per tank...at least.

Gentlemen:

thank you for the kind advice and sharing your knowledge. I tried to sell my MOC first editions at a GI Joe/Toy Soldier show in Langhorne Pa back in November and didn't move one at $8/each- a bit surprised by that.

I collect mostly 1/32 scale KC stuff and have noticed a dropoff in the resale value of those pieces too. It may have something to do with the economic state we are in- who knows.

A lot of this stuff is going to take dump as people become less confident about spending money. Although we love it, these "collectibles" are mostly frivolous. Once the economy turns north again you'll start seeing an increase in value. Or, we'll all be blown to kingdom come. Either way.

The value for all 21st Century items will probably rise in value when there is official word that the company will cease production.
