Hey Guys!

Sorry for the late reply but its been a bit busy with the roll out of my diorama sets.

So... Is it time for the British Hellcat (Gannet)? I can move it up the list if there is enough interest, er... let me clarify... orders that is...

How many should I expect to be ordered? Before you reply, let me tell you what will be included...

Besides the stock Hellcat accessories, also:

* 6 - RP w/ 60 lbs warheads (british version of the HVAR's) mounted on rails.
* 2 - 500 lbs GP Bombs mounted between the ext. fuel tank and the landing gear.

The British Fleet Air Arm Hellcat (Gannet) will be offered in 3 paint schemes:

Squadron 804 - 1943 - Assigned to the 7th Naval Fighter Wing JV-316 - 6KK.

Image

Squadron 800 - March 1944 - "Operation Tungsten" - Lt. B. Richie - Tirpitz Attacks - Later to become a Hellcat Ace w/ 6 kills (JV-131-EL) HMS Emperor.

Image

Squadron 800 - August 1944 - "Invasion of France" - JV-146-EW - HMS Emperor

Price... Keep in mind that unique additional accessories are included with a complex paint scheme:

JV-316 "6KK" - $249.99
JV-131 "EL" - $249.99
JV-146 "EW" - $299.99

Turn time will be 4 to 6 weeks and production can start next month after I clear the queue of current orders.

I know some will complain about the price but these paint schemes take a lot more time and materials to produce.

If anyone is concerned about the quality, don't worry, you will be impressed and not disappointed. The initial comments about the first series having faint marking impressions visible were corrected by the 4th plane produced (4th plane, not 4th series).

Since then I regularly receive feedback that my planes are "the best" and "the crown jewel" of their collection and even an occasional "absolute perfection"...

I would invite any of Airstrike's customers to provide feedback for others to read.

Also, 3 more Hellcat paint scheme's have been requested and will be available soon...

* Blue Angels #1

* White #00 "Double Nuts" - USS Yorktown 1943 - Cdr. James Flatley - CAG #5 - Light Blue / White camo

* Circle 13 - Lt. William Henry (XO), USS Independence 1944 - Night Fighter Ace - To include 20mm cannons and wing mounted radar-dome (radome)

Thanks,
Patrick

I was wondering how Patrick from Air Strike Toys was doing. Anyone hear from him lately? Last time he posted on S.S.H.Q. was 12-15-2008.

I have purchased his repaints and they are beautiful. :D

He has some great ideas for repaints lined up for the future.
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

I don't think Patrick did them. Plus the last post he made indicated that he was very busy and will not be taking any new orders for a while. He didn't want to make buyer wait for his time has to be spent with other business. He did leave it open ended like he may resume some time in the future.

But this gives me some ideas for my extra Hellcat........

Airstrike Toys is no more.

I had Patrick doing some custom work for me,but I was not able to get hold of him.And he didn't get hold of me.

After posting on this forum in regards to contacting him,he got hold of me,and agreed to return my items.

He was polite, and said that he was very busy.Too busy to do any more customs.

Shame,as his work was very good. But you have to be able to meet timelines.

What a bummer! I got so excited when I read Patrick's post, I didn't even bother to look at the date it was posted! All I could think about was which version I wanted to get, and how many meals I would have to skip to pay for it!
Oh well, I don't really need another Hellcat anyway...But I guess it showed me that my 1/18 scale "fever" still burns as hot as it ever did!
