Hola everyone!
Now confirmed is the latest LIMITED EXCLUSIVE from Caltek. You won't find these at mass markets.
Saburo Sakai's "V-103" Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero! This is the same mold as the previously released Zeros from BBI but with much more attention to the paint detail as collectors can only appreciate.
Scheduled for US release in January '09.
Follow the link and please have a look!!

Wow, that's a damn nice piece and a nice price for a custom paint!

Very very tempting.

Sweet and they got the vertical stab stripe right too which 21st painted the wrong color on the 32x version. HOPEFULLY it does come out 01/09...still waiting for the Solomons Zero that was supposed to come out 01/08..

Awesome, I love BBI's zero, I just received the limited edition release from Badcat and it's really nice. I would definitely pick one of these up. What zero collection is complete without a white scheme, especially since I snoozed on the Pearl Harbor release. Now if they can just release the Solomon island scheme I would really be happy. Oh, and it would be nice if one of the toy makers realized Japan used more then just the zero during WWII, and some of them were much better planes.

I'm in!!!
I had to read up on Saburo, he was an honorable man. He was the one who fought Pug Southerland in his F4F over Guadalcanal in one of those "Histories Mysteries" episodes on PBS. Only to get shot up by an SBD rear gunner a little later.

Now we just need Hiroyoshi Hishizawa's (ace of aces) Zero.
I noticed 21st's 1:32 Zero has a red stripe on it, while this one has a blue fuselage stripe. I imagine this is the correct one right?
Update: I ordered one.

Saburo Sakai had the samurai blood of his family... Hard to belive a man can survive a 30 caliber bullet blinding him in the right eye and not being abil to find a kamikaze target he managed to fly his damaged Zero in a four-hour, 47-minute flight over 560 nautical miles...then on top of that he insisted on making his mission report to his superior officer before collapsing.
64 or more Kills in the War and After the war, Sakai retired from the Navy as a lieutenant. He became a Buddhist acolyte and vowed that he would never again kill another living thing, not even a mosquito.
What a life.

MTS says this one is replacing the Soloman Zero.

Does anyone know if, after making an announcement and there's not enough orders from retailers, that the product is just simply canceled (or replaced in this case)?

Very nice scheme for the BBI Zero

Now, the question is, do I want to fork over the cash and make this new release my third BBI Zero?
