Nice find and great job reporting it to us.

I am sure some one here will get one and find your info useful.
That Russian t-80 might be of some use to me.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Thanks for the info, Jolly Roger!
I LOVE this PTE stuff!!! And to see that they are making some new stuff is GREAT!! Are these pictures from the back of the SU 27 box?
PTE may be underscale, but all I know is that their soldiers FIT in their planes, heli's and armor!!! And with the PTE prices, I have no problem buying more than one...or two...or three...or...

the tank and ifv have a chance at being pretty scale but we'll have to see once the products are in hand. SU-27 is way small and i imagine the helicopter will be too.
I gather that's the same PTE howitzer that's been out for a few years now.
Still, this is promising...

I checked an old picture of the howitzer, and it looks the same. Wonder if this one will have a different paint job. Thought at first the barrel was shorter, but the old pic looks just like this one.
Aferg, I envy you guys up North that can order the new 'desert' color set from Sears. Nothing at our US Sears...sigh...and I can't order from the Canada Sears either...double sigh....

the helicopter looks most like a Eurocopter Dauphin, i guess. The dauphin has military applications and is not a huge machine, so there is a chance that it could be close to 1/18, if they make it the same size as they did their undersized black hawk. However, i suspect it will be way too small...

Close - it is a Chinese Z-9, and the IFV is also Chinese, as of course is the tank:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harbin_Z-9
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WZ551
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_96
This was info pulled from one of the joe boards:
http://www.joecustoms.com/forums/viewto ... &sk=t&sd=a)
also see:
http://forums.yojoe.com/showthread.php?t=61995&page=6
Probably just intended for major distribution within China itself, but it'd be awesome if these make it here as it would finally give us some kind of modern opposing forces' hardware.

The Su-27 has the air brake on top of the fuselage, nice little touch. Although they are a bit out of scale, these make great vehicles for my sons GI Joes. On top of that you really do get a lot for the money you spend.

here's a picture of the helicopter in box. Clearly underscale....i'm guessing about 20 inches or so in length. Should be about 27...so it's more like 1/24 scale. Still, i doubt we'll see a Dauphin/Z-9 any closer to scale than this, so it may be worth getting and squinting (or standing on your head, as pH would do).

now the tank on the other hand looks very good scalewise. In fact, it may actually be too big, although the depth of field in photos can make scale comparison with the figures in the backround tricky. Clearly has potential....for anyone wanting a chinese tank that is.

Could be modified to a T72 or T80 with a major amount of rework on the turret......or a major amount of squinting.

couldn't find any in box pics of the apc....if someone can find them please post. It's a chinese design.....not based on anything russian. The real thing is about 21 feet long so probably a good chance it will be to scale, as it only needs to be 14 inches.

The Infantry Fighting Vehicle looks like the
Transportpanzer Fuchs... I think I'll have to get this one for sure, it would be perfect for a Black Hawk Down dio.

actually it looks more like the French VAB and is more likely to be the size of the smaller VAB too.

Did some more digging, its actually a Chinese APC after all, the IFV look definitely matches the
WZ551.

yes it was stated in the joe thread that it was a chinese apc. Just trying to think of other things it could be used for, since a chinese apc doesn't really turn me on too much. I strongly suspect it will be well underscale too.

i like this change in direction for PTE. The tank should certainly do as a psuedo Iraqi T-72, probably a bit small for a T-80. Be nice to have something for my marine cobra to blow up. I wonder how long it will take these to show up in north america. They're already out in new zealand i would assume australia as well; so board members from those locals may be able to give us a sneak peak review of what they are like.
