Just joined the forum guys and saying hi. I found this site during my recent ww2 interest reignition. I used to collect a lot of 1:72 in my younger years, with particular interest in the Zulu and napoleonic eras. Recently discovered 21c whilst looking for some german soldiers to accompany my Indy figures. Those figures switched me onto the 1:18 scale. Awaiting a load of 21c on their way from the states and my first 1:18 tank, the panzer iv with skirts from here in the uk. I hope I didn't hit this scene too late as there is some gloom on here about recent retail 1:18 setbacks in the states.

Welcome to the forum! You're a bit late, but in my opinion, everything will work out and we might just have things get better in time. Patience is key with any hobby.
Anyway, welcome to the addiction they call by the street name of "XD". Makes you crazy at times, and in extreme cases some addicts have been known to build bunkers to smuggle their "XD" into. Significant others can and will be driven away by this addiction, but finding other addicts is the key to solving this problem, or, slipping it to them in their sleep, thereby hooking them as well.
We all struggle with it.
Again, welcome to the forums, and don't be a stranger. You are amongst friends here.

Welcome..
Don't worry about the gloom. Since you're just getting started you've got a lot of collecting to do and a nice selection of pieces to choose from that have come out over the past several years.

Wilkommen! I too got into XD late and missed all the huge clearance sales. I have enjoyed playing catch up though! Plus, there is always 1/32 for you...

Thanks for the welcome guys. I can't wait for my xd figures to arrive. I completed my Indiana jones figure collection and have been bitten by the collectors bug.
I have ordered a fair few without seeing one in the flesh. Can anyone direct me to any reviews or photo galleries of xd? I hope they are as good as they look in photos I have seen so far. They are next to impossible to source here in the uk. I laid out a lot of cash but it feels ok when I break the cost per figure to around £4 each. The ones I have been able to locate in uk run about £10 each

Fantastic, thanks grunt1. That site is just what I needed. I just ordered a couple of 21c navy seal tactical jeeps and the set of modern warfare figs with royal marine and eastern warriors. Not sure what to go for next. Either a 1:18 little bird or the xd platoon and Vietnam figs. Want to get broad range to start and am kind of panic buying due to uncertain fate of 21c.

Hey sharpy, here is a cheap way to get some 'Nam figures. They come in little plastic bags. They must have a few since most of us got our fill when it was first announced.
