That actually looks really cool - even in black! I've not seen any at my local TRUs, but will keep and eye out. For $25, that will be very much worth the purchase and deserving of a repaint

Can you get the measurements ? It looks real small.

It should have a wing span of about 29 5/8 inches and a length of about 41 3/8 inches to be 1/18 scale. If it is clsoe I am there. Also how close is that A-10 to scale this would be a custom that I would love to do. Both of them
The A-10 to be 1/18 scale . Should have a wingspan of about 38 5/16 inches and length 35 9/16 inches.

Why can’t we get something that is a true military replica aircraft in 1/18 scale a F-22 and an A-10 was on my list but this does not count…….

I'll try to get the measurements tomorrow as they are locked away right now so my son doesn't see them. It looks about the same scale as the PTE A-10 and F-18 - will post measurements tomorrow - the figure is 3 and 3/4" like regular 1/18 stuff but looks too big for the size of the plane.

looks like about an 18 inch wingspan to me.... Closer to 1/32 than 1/18 i'm afraid.
Best 1/18 A10 available is the GWS r/c one. Next is the FSK r/c one, which is a bit bigger. Third best would get my vote as the PTE one, but it is actually 1/27.

Looks good from that front view shot on the back of the box. I may have to pick one up just because there isn't enough F-22 Raptor things out these days.

The SKU is 661732763917 (number under the barcode) the number above the barcode is #76391.
The dimensions as best I can tell without opening the box (also the wing tips are not installed in the box so this is a guess of where they would end up = Length ~ 23" Wingspan ~ 20" I used the length from tip to engine exhaust - the elevators appear to go another 1and1/2" or so farther behind the engines.
The A-10 is roughly Length 23 1/2" X Wingspan 26".
I know these aren't 1/18 but they fit the 1/18 figures and they hold up to play much better. My 9 year old loves to play with the A-10 - it's just his size to handle and very durable. He can't handle most of the other real 1/18 stuff as it is just too big. If my son wasn't playing with this stuff, I probably couldn't justify to my better half purchasing this stuff for "my" collection that I tell her is "for him." So I get to play with the real stuff and I paint his PTE stuff to look "less toy like" so he won't mind playing witht he smaller stuff. Actually 80% of my collection is still in the original box never opened - at least for now.

Ah, yes, the Thunderwing. It is a cool looking plane and actually has a ton of interesting features, including the sound, firing missiles, and the bombsight. Over all, however, it was just too funky, especially when compared with the classic GI Joe planes. The cockpit was nice, though. I eventually gave the plane I had to some younger kids I know, who absolutely loved it. If and when I find the True Heroes F-22, I plan on repainting it in a similar color scheme to the Thunderwing

Picked one up today. Fits right in with my 1/32 stuff. It's not even close to 1/18! Also, how much is the fsk A-10 and where can I buy it?

Got one today as well. It is a good size and well detailed for what it is. The landing gear, for example, close up completely within the fuselage. The plane is most certainly in the 1:32 scale range, though I think I'm still going to use it as a plane with my GI Joes - perhaps a better representation of the Thunderwing. I've already started the repaint and am going for a two-tone gray scheme using Tamyia spray paints. The PTE F-22 looks much better in shades of gray than black

tru.com also lists a True Heroes Troop Carrier (no image of it, though). Has anyone seen this?

B-29 - the A-10 is also at Toys R Us, if you can find it. There were 4 left a few weeks ago at the one closest to me. I believe it was going for $39.
Tmanthegreat - post some pics when you get the repaint done, may give me some ideas.

FSK A-10 here:
http://www.hobby-lobby.com/a-10.htm
You may want to wait as they have sales 3 or 4 times a year where you can save $25 or so.
If that's too rich for you blood the GWS A-10, while simpler, is pretty good and almost exctly to scale, whereas the FSK is a bit big. Get the slope glider version of the GWS and it's about $40 but you'll have to paint it. You can find them with a google search or on ebay.

Thanks aferg. It is a bit pricey. I've checked out the gws model, but it didn't look very detailed. The landing gear would have to be rebuilt from scratch, and overall detail looks low. Does anyone have one that they could post pics of?
