BBI WWII Figures

Post by AlloySkull » Sun Oct 05, 2008 10:33 am

I'd heard around here how good these guys were, and I was at TRU the other day and was browsing the military isle, as usual. I was looking through the figures and 21st was all DAK SMG guy, and BBI had all these fantastic GIs with tons of gear and the helmet even has straps! That really got me, for 5 bucks!

So I got him home and unwrapped him, set him up, and man he's a fantastic figure.

This particular soldier is with the 101st AB, and comes with a Browning .50 machine gun, 2 different Colt 1911 .45s, a Thompson, a BAR, 2 ammo cans, 2 grenades, .50 ammo belt and a flashlight. I mean, holy hell, could you ask for more?

His detail is great. The face is awesome, the right amount of detail. The washes are well done and there's even gray wear on his knees. He has a combat knife on his boot, which is really cool. All his pouches are in realistic locations, though not removeable except for his pack. He has the US flag on his shoulder as well as the 101 patch.

Overall I love this figure. My GIs were starting to get outnumbered, and I will be buying more BBI. :)

I agree with you completely AlloySkull.

I really would like to see what bbi germans would look like if they made some.
The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

I almost feel llike saying that your observations are a couple years late

However, the BBI figures are excellent! In fact, I would rate them as some of the best 1:18 WWII figures on the market. The paintjobs on the newest wave of figures, for the most part, are not as good as the first wave from a couple years ago, but they are still excellent figures. You may want to get some of the modern soldiers, as well as the paratroopers. Now, if only we could get more WWII Germans from BBI apart from the undersized pilot

I think BBI is tops when it comes to figures. My only complaint is we don't get more of them! :D

I think I've seen them at TRU, never really looked at them..since I am not a big 1/18 fan.
