I NEED YOUR OPINION PLEASE LOOK !!!!!!!!

Post by Buckyroo » Sun Aug 31, 2008 12:24 pm

I am nearing the end of my house addition that has consumed all of my time for the past two years, but through my labor I have created a space for my 1/18 AC. I have been toying with the idea of coming up with a wall hanger that will 1) not damage the AC while hangin, 2) not damage the AC by falling, 3) not damage the wall, 4) not require wire/line, 5) can be hung with a simple picture nail/hook, and 6) will allow for removal of display AC at any time.

I have developed what I will call my prototype and have a couple far enough along to show an example. These will allow for the use of bombs, rocket tubes, and fuel tanks on the AC without affecting function of the hanger. The photos do not show the hangers, because they are not far enough along in development to present.

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PHOTOS - I KNOW THEY DON'T SHOW A WHOLE LOT, BUT THEY DEMONSTRATE THE CONCEPT - AND THEN LET ME KNOW IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR USE BY OTHERS ON THE BOARD. WHEN I GO TO MAKE MY HANGERS, I MAY WORK MORE TOWARDS EASE OF PRODUCTION AND MAYBE THAT WAY I CAN MAKE SOME FOR THE MEMBERS THAT ARE INTERESTED. I DON'T HAVE A TIME FRAME ESTABLISHED FOR A FINISHED PRODUCT, BUT I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED. PLEASE RESPOND WITH YOUR INTEREST AND NON INTEREST IN WALL HANGERS LIKE THESE.

THANK YOU

i used to hang my 1/48 aircraft models on the wall like that. I had over 100 at one point. Looked pretty cool. I imagine it will look just as cool in 1/18. Also really helps keep the dust off them too. I think a few people on the board have displayed their planes like that.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I like it. Been looking for a way to get them off of the shelves and free up some space for a while. Plus you can actually see how nice they are. Let us know how things turn out. :D

That would be great if they were rockets. Planes fly level. I like mine hanging from the ceiling just fine. They 1) do not damage the AC while hanging, 2) never damage the AC by ever falling, 3) do not damage the wall, and 4) will allow for removal of display AC at any time. :D

Just think of it as top cover perspective and not so much as planes attempting verticle flight.

The ceiling space I have available will not allow for the hanging of all my AC so I have to go in non-conventional direction.

What materials did you use for the planes' antennae?
Looks very cool by the way.

I cannont take credit for either one. The Mustang is standard issue BBI with their heavy black thread and the Corsair is one from Airstrike and it is a fine black thread. Thanks

I hung some on my walls and I used a product called "Monkey Hooks" and a loop of fishing line. Very easy to use and very safe.
