Platoon Huey
Platoon Huey
I saw on the Platoon figure card backs that there was a Huey Slick available and also a tank. Does anyone know if these are really going to be released or is it like the Sahara Huey??

It only took ten years after the movie to get the figures. I don't think it is going to happen...

100 bucks Popeye? I've been watching the Hueys on ebay and they are going from 200 to 300 bucks. Even loose ones are overpriced.
I only have the Air America one, so it's a bummer I can't get a Vietnam one for a reasonable price.
Somebody needs to put these out again, somehow.

Yeah, I remember them being cheap on ebay.
I decided I would only collect the WWII planes and armor. I had so many planes already, that I dropped off collecting them all together.
By the time I had gotten back into it, done an inventory of what I had or was missing the prices went up.
I have a friend who when I had bought him a BBI Mustang as a gift, went ape-sh*t buying everything, but he was particularly interested in 1:18 jets and helicopters. Well after a while he was getting buyers remorse, till I showed him what jets and helicopters (which I didn't have) not to mention some of the planes were going for now. He doesn't feel bad anymore.

I got my Hogshead Huey in a trade of sorts. My brother purchased it years ago at TRU (at the time I got the M-48) but he never really did much with it. I then purchased it from him for $20. That was in the years before 2005-2006 when 21c re-released the Huey and at that time, the HH Huey brought in big bucks on ebay. It was a steal and I knew it. My brother could have cared less. Now it looks like those days of expensive Hueys are back...

We spoke with 21st century Toys about this very issue since it was advertised on the card backs. The official answer is: "The Huey will not be re-released."
At the time they were designing the Platoon figures they had plans to return the Huey along with the new series & Patton Tank. They were working on the Sabre & MiG (yes, we're talking about waaaay back then) at the same time and opted for planes rather than the reissue of a helicopter. So unfortunately, the Huey got dumped.
What a bumber, eh? If you don't own a Huey, it's hard to appreciate what a GREAT 'toy' aircraft it really is. The Cobra is just as impressive!

You said it. I searched and searched for the Air Cav version - passing by the Hogshead, Sharks Mouth, and CIA versions because I just knew Air Cav would appear on the shelf one day. I never found one, and afraid now my chances of getting one now are about zero.Foxhole Toys wrote:What a bumber, eh?
