POST K. B. Toys Finds

Post by STUKA » Thu Jul 10, 2008 4:21 pm

K. B. Toys Finds? Is this a fluke? The KB Toys in Douglasville Mall had two full pegs of BOB II figures and Marines in the darker fourth type of camo. The price was 3 for $9.98 - I just happened to be in the area getting my son a Peter Pan Sword at the Disney Store.
So I grabbed some marines and Germans.

So is this good news or bad news? 21st getting another store to buy their stuff or 21st dumping inventory?

That sounds like 21st dumping inventory, to me. KB is like the dollar stores, and has been selling those single carded GI Joes that come without accessories;because, Hasbro has all this extra inventory to dump now that 25th is making a killing.
I could be wrong, but, KB has always seemed to be the Toys R Us of dollar stores.

Last Sunday my freind said he was going to Florida and his buddy had told him that " my soldiers " were on sale at 3/$10.00. We both took it for granted that he was talking about Walmart but now it makes sence that it's KB.

KBs has been selling 21c products either online or in their stores since at least 2004. It is never a great selection and usually more expensive than not, but the fact that you are finding 21c products at KBs is not as abnormal as it might seem

interesting - I remember KB was where I first saw the 12 inch figures and picked up quite a few of them at clearance when many KBs were going out of business but never remember seeing 1:18 -

Interesting, because I thought KB went out of business a couple years ago. They closed up all of their stores in this region between 4-8 years ago, and I figured they were in the process of doing the same nationwide. Nice to know that they are still around, although it doesn't really matter in this region--there are a handful of TRUs within 150 mile radius, and that's it. It would actually be nice to see another retailer, be it a chain or an independent.

 KB in my AO never had any 21st products in 1:18th or any other scale for that matter. There is only 1 location left around here, seems all the other stores closed up a few years ago.

There's a KB outlet store a couple miles from my house. I'm in there at least once a weak and they've never had any 1/18 21C stuff. About the only 1/18 stuff they currently have are some SW figures and the IJ figures that are over priced at about $8 each.

Before last Christmas, I saw some 1/32 21stC planes at my local KB.
I asked about 1/18 and the clerk didn't know anything about it.

I will have to check out my local KB.

Well I went by the local KB outlet and surprisingly they had about 6 full pegs of these figures. Nice to see them back on the shelves. I'm guessing eBay will be flooded with these guys soon. I'll probably list some myself ;)

All those figures in the picture were at my K.B. Toys store. Along with a lot of figures from the Operation Market Garden series.
I bought the guy next to the motorcycle and the German dude with the binocular and MP-40.

Stug45, those are the figures I saw plus OMG figures and some Marines and Japanese figures. No FJ's.

And the best part? Not a suntanned figure in the bunch!

None. I'll be checking another K.B. this weekend.

Ahh, It's fun raiding K.B. again, haven't done this in a long while since the Gundam clearance days.

Oh man, I'm hitting KB this week. We have one in our mall. I could skate there if I wanted, but then again, that's a good hard skate and the high possibility of being dissapointed... So I'll get a ride. :D

Man, I really hope to find some new figs!

Thats a good idea but most of the ppl that work there are college kids and they are not going to know what your talking about.

Well KB stocks their stores in a certain way. If they have them they'll be in the aisle with the rest of the action figures. It shouldn't be too hard to describe the packaging. BTW a lot of these toy stores do have a comic book and Star Wars loving geek working in them ;). Just ask for that guy. He's probably the assistant manager :). Those guys will know what you're talking about even if they don't collect XD because they KNOW the action figure aisle like the back of their hand.

Sorry if I offended anyone but from what I've seen there really are a number of 30+ guys that live with mom working in toy stores. Not that I look down on these guys. Except for the lack of female companionship they seem to live an idyllic life :).
