Belated realization of Avenger issue-

Post by mikeg » Wed Jul 09, 2008 6:08 am

I've had my avengers displayed on thin shelves with wings folded for quite a while, now the wings are extended with the planes laying flat against pegboard on the wall. As much as we used to complain about sagging wings, now I see my atlantic version as having almost no sag and the #28 as having only slight sagging. Maybe the problem(s) were not as bad as I initially thought....

I think the sagging was a general issue, but then the degree of severeity existed on a plane-by-plane basis. My Atlantic Avenger has pretty noticable wing sag, while my Bunker Hill Avenger has perfectly flat wings. My Flight 19 Avenger has something in between, with the wings being more flat than sagging. In retrospect, I think 21c could have designed the wings with a bit more structural strength. It might have meant the loss of some accuracy (like on the BBI Hellcat) but I for one would have been fine with that, so long as the plane looked good
