Opinions on bbi Me109?

I thought I was out of 1/18 collecting, and I've never been that interested in German weapons, but this Me109 has me thinking of ordering. I really don't care for this desert scheme, though - considering the state of the industry and that 1/18 is getting more and more expensive to manufacture, ship, etc, do you think we'll see bbi produce this in other paints? If sales aren't as expected, what are the odds this version will be all that's made?
And if it does sell well, can we expect a Spitfire or Hurricane?!? (I can only hope)

Though I've only seen the pictures on the small retailer websites, I am rather impressed with it. BBI has made a more correct-looking Bf-109 than did 21c, and for me that is saying a lot as I consider the 21c Bf-109G6 to be one of their better pieces. The opening engine, detailed cockpit, figure, and correct radio antenna are all positive points to me. I will be getting one despite owning three 21c Bf-109Gs already
I think BBI has taken a crafty and logical approach to making their Bf-109. Certainly their designers must have been aware of the coverage that the 21c Me-109Es and Bf-109G6s got, as well as their select range of paint schemes. As opposed to producing a replicated version of the G6 (as BBI essentially did with both the Corsair and P-51) they have tweaked the Bf-109 model so that we get an earlier variant of the G, and one that is not in a gray-green molted cammo job.
Considering that board members and other modelers have customized the 21c Bf-109 into a DAK plane, given the prevalence of 21c DAK figures at retail, and given the upcoming 88mm gun in DAK colors, there must be some perceived demand for models from the DAK theater. BBI is capitalizing on that in their own way.
Now what we need is a later model Spitfire to go with the BBI Bf-109

Too many times have I turned my back on new releases with the intent of finding them later, on sale, for less than retail and then having to buy them from ebay for big bucks.
My vow is that I purchase every new release from e-tailers, doubles of anything I find in WM and anything on clearance goes in the closet by the boxfull. Given BBI has been rather slow to release repaints with only one or two a year, I would not count on seeing another soon. And I definitely don't think it will be at today's current retail price.
Just my opinion though.

i could not agree more of what was said i will order the same way straight from the trusted internet retailers (for me its badcataviation) following two bad deals:
- The Blue angels used to be at 79 us $ on badcat web site and i was obliged to buy it for 100 a few monthes after (after hesitating too long)... it has diseappaered at the time and was beginning its ascent , it was 2005 to the new eights we know now.
- Hellcat & Corsairs : i bought the BBI hellcat & corsair from an ebay seller last week and was desappointed by the quality control of these products. (Bad cat always check the models before shipping ... oversea in my case !)
So to come back to the Me 109 desert scheme i will go for it immediately !

i want to compare

Yeah, they could do one with a Euro theater scheme and then one with a tropical intake on the bottom of the engine cowling for desert operations.
I for one will be buying this Bf-109.
Given BBI's history so far, we'll probably see another paint job on this one. I would like to see grey type, and a well done Russian front.
