Small Scale Military Headquarters

So, I was thinking... what if the board had a special section just for Technical Walkthroughs?

For instance, I think we all have our own little specialties and I for one really want some of the skills that people on this board have.

So, I know how to make stuff look like cement... I could write a walk through with pictures and it could be posted in that section. Or someone else who knows how to paint tanks really well could do theirs, weathering, water, dios, figures, whatever and so on and so on.

When someone posts their work on the forums everyone always wants to know how they did it... but those posts move away, and not everyone gets to see it etc. But this way they would be permanent and detailed... if someone gets a request to tell how they did something, they could just post a detailed walkthrough in that section and everyone would have it.

I think it could be really great, and that way we are all learning and sharing our knowledge with one another.

It would be hard to just post it in the regular sections because they would quickly be moved down and away... but if they had their own section we would know exactly where to find them.

I also think if it had it's own section that people would be encouraged to write articles etc. I know I would... and I would love to read how everyone does what they do.

Anyways, I don't want to create work for our generous host or anyone else... but it was just a thought... and I think it could be great.

I don't know if you can post photos in the message board... but maybe do them through webshots with links... or whatever.

Well, I want to know what other people think about it.... so post on it.

It could also be a place for detailed reviews of products....

for instance if someone really wants to do a detailed overview with photos of the marines or a plane etc it could go there so that it is always there and if someone wants to know if someone is a good purchase they could just go there.

i know we ususally have locked down threads, but those go away eventually.

this section would have a smaller number of posts in it.

i dunno... just thinking out loud.

we pretty much already have a section like that....it's a sticky post in the reference room, regarding hints, tips, tricks etc. It could easily be expanded to include the stuff you're talking about.

guess you're right... for some reason my mind blocks out the stickies and i always start reading from the first post down.
