Badcat says the Panther S4 repaint pre-order has sold out and they begin shipping them out today.
I saved my $80 plus shipping for the upcoming 1/18 Steve Ritchie F-4D Phantom.

I see that BCA is selling one of the new Panthers on EBAY. So they must've held several back from sale to the public to sell on-line. Selling on-line worked well for BCA regarding the PH Zero so they must feel it might work for them with the new panther.

Be interesting to see how much it goes for.... I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see it top $100.

Great Models has it for $71.95. They show the regular retail price as $89.95. Bad Cat shows the regular retail price as $99.99. What's up with that?

Great Models= "The Great Wait"... I have an order in with them right now that is over a month old, and it still has not shipped..

the good news is I'm in no hurry. The Panther might ship out right away, I don't know... but depending what you order from these guys, be prepared to wait a while to get it. They have a huge selection of stuff in practically every scale, but they seem to be overwhelmed with the volume of orders, which has created long waits to receive goods, and there have been quite a few complaints about this at some of the kitbuilder boards.

I've ordered stuff from them twice. The first time took 2 weeks because they lost my order details. The second time took less than a week. YMMV.

There is no such thing as a "suggested retail price" for 21st Century, Blue Box, or Forces of Valor items, for example. Respective manufacturers neither advertise, promote, or suggest any such information. Therefore, it is all just made up.

Now that's a bit disingenious, isn't it? I mean, if they're selling it on e-bay, why don't they include a link on their website so that everyone who's interested in getting this particular paintscheme has a chance to bid on it? Could it be because their potential customers might get pissed to find out they're not really out-of-stock for the time being?
I do appreciate that about SmallJoes

Thanks Corey for the info! I didn't realize that! It helps explain a lot of the goofy pricing out there. And thank you that smalljoes does not mess with all those gimmicks that the other guys do. They try to get you to buy something b/c it's a special sale price or because it's lower than some retail price, but in the end the price really isn't much different. I may not always agree with the smalljoes price on a particular item, but at least there's no gimmicks - just you setting a price and me deciding if the item is worth that to me.
And your clearance prices seem to be just that - items that didn't sell well so the price goes down to get rid of the inventory. Not another gimmick to generate sales and then magically that item doesn't need to be clearanced anymore and it's back up to full price.
And as an aside I find it really funny that a bunch of those $80-90 panthers sold so quickly at BCA (well, allegedly anyhow). So many people said a re-paint wasn't worth that price. Well, sorry guys - in capitalism nothing really has any intrinsic worth or price - only what people will pay for it. So if enough people don't cast their vote by NOT buying a $90, then sorry, apparently 21C was right and it was worth $90.
