Alright guys this project has moved from the custom page to the 1/18 scale page. It is official, the P-36 kit is ready for sale. You guys have beared through this for about 7 months and it is ready. Fully built versions will be forthcoming in the near future.
I will be doing 3 paint masters --one silver, one Army green and one French camo. Lair will be doing the decals.

The kit will be sold on e-bay in a week or so. I will speculate that they will be about $190 or so. But remember you will need a 21st P-40 to complete it.

I know that the big manufacturing companies have let us down somewhat . But I and a few others have taken it upon ourselves to keep the 1/18 scale alive with the new Me-163 Komet , my P-36 and the Ki-61 that will soon follow as well as Air Strikes's new project that is still a secret.

Don't fret armor guys there is something for you as well. I have teamed up with the Hun and we have something exciting that we will be offering. It is not going to be on a trailer either. This will be out hopeful in a couple of months.

We as collectors have a bright future in the 1/18 scale world indeed.
Here are the parts for the kit:

Good luck with it!
I have a clue about how much work and expense goes into something like that.

Man the pictures are all fuzzy. For some reason my camera will not load newer pictures. The castings are sharp and crisp. Just like the masters. :D :D I will shut everything off and try again.

PH it maybe the background you are shooting against. Notice how the countertop looks sharp compared to the parts. Try shooting it on a solid nonreflective background, this may help.

I just made some more pics on a blue cloth but for some reason the goofy camera is not loading to the computer. It is down loading pics that I took 7 months ago
Oh the humanity

I'll defintely take a fully built version

I'm not one for building stuff too much anymore, too much time.

Sounds neat, especially interested in the KI-61

PH, why not do the wings and offer this thing complete?

True, as you'd have to butcher a perfectly good P-40... Whole kit seems more feasible, not to mention not everyone has a P-40?

I have spent over $550 on RTV and will probably spend that to do the wings as well. I am also using the running gear and canopies from the 21st P-40.

The casting resin I am using costs $36 a unit and I use almost a full one to make the fuse and the other parts. Not to mention the 3 hrs it takes to cast them. The wings will take a full unit to cast themselves and the time involved.

I can get a 21st P-40 between $30 -$45 and for the price of the resin and time envolved it is worth just getting the 21st P-40 to complete the kit.

I will not be using the 21st fusalage from the model. What I intend to do with the left over fusalage is to convert them to a E and M version. This will create a whole other airplane. Opening up that much more oportunities .

Very very very niceeeeee! Did the French fly the P-36 in 1940? If so, the 21st ME-109 will have another plane to contend with. :D

But wait a second....

Oh my.... :D How about a hint? Allied or Axis? I assume you'd be using pre-existing molds from 21st, FOV or BBI and modifying them greatly...but which?

Hmmm....Maybe a Panther variant? Or...seeing FOV Shermans are plentiful...maybe a Sherman variant? :D

So what is the plan, we send you a p40 and you build it and paint it and then send it back.

What would be cool is to re-label a P-40 box as well!

So the KI -61 will be totally all new resin, will these kits be "bidded " on ebay or will we be able to order one at a set price somewhere.

German of course. It will be a totaly new piece of armor.

Also yes the French flew the P-36 / 75 and yes a Me 109 was the first victom to be shot down at the Start of WW2 when France intered the war. This is the exact plane that I will do . The Red Devil Escadrille yellow 10. I have it posted in the custom step by step.

I just got in a bunch of P-40s from Aviator Nut. I started to tear down one of the fusalages and forgot how much of a pain it was. I broke off the point of 2 cheapo hunting knives doing so. So I have decided to cast the cockpit and rear tail wheel. The P-36 cockpit seat is different than the P-40s seat anyway. The P-36's seat is rounded on top. So all the builder has to do now is canabalize the front wind shield and sliding glass canopy. :D This will cut down about 1 to 2 hrs off the building time and a whole lot of cussing.
