BananaHobby Ducted Fan A-10 Warthog

Check out this ducted fan electric A-10, don't know what the scale is, but I believe I read somewhere that it's 1/14th, it comes in two flavors, green camo and desert camo, but could probably be repainted any way you want. I'm no expert on the "Hog" but it looks fairly accurate, and certainly much better than that plastic abortion they sell ("Elite Forces" I think) at TRU. Scroll down a little bit and check out the video... pretty cool.

it's about 1/18. It's not quite as good as the GWS A-10, which can be had cheaper.
There's also the Flying Styro A-10 which is gorgeous but costs about $200

Thanks for the info, I checked out both of them and they are nice. The "flying styro" is a real beauty, the downside of it is "assembly required"... 20-40 hrs. for advanced modelers according to the website, then you need to buy all the electrics for it...Radio, Servos, Motors, the works...all told about $500 worth for a "ready to fly" bird. The GWS is much simpler and cheaper to put in RTF condition, but both the flying styro and GWS recommend "Advanced RC piloting skills", which is no small consideration because you can crash one of these in the blink of an eye... talk about watching a grown man cry...

if someone just wants a nice model of the A-10 the Flying Styro is the way to go. Already painted, needs a bit of work to put together.
The GWS is good too but will need painting and detailing (eg GAU, wing pylons etc).
I got the GWS and am quite happy with it. Buy the slope glider version. It's the cheapest.
If you plan to fly them then you're looking at a lot of extra time, money and expertese.

Not bad for $99.00. A bit under powered. I'd wait for the brushless motors or my favorite, install BIGGER motors.
When I used to fly gas powered R/C all of the time I was never satisfied with the "recommended" engine size... I'd usually double it (i.e. swap a 60 for a 30) and beef up the airframe turning even the most mundane plane in to STOL.

I have plenty of experience in RC, but it's all ground based.... I have zero experience with aircraft...except that I watched a couple people crash $800 Helicopters..
It always gave me a healthy amount of respect for the skill it takes to fly an RC plane, especially the higher performance models. In your opinion would the Banana hobby A-10 be suitable for a beginner..??

No. The plane appears to be a bit underpowered, slightly unstable in yaw and probably has to be flown all the time (can't take your hands of the sticks without changing directions). The biggest killer of R/C planes is getting crossed up when the plane is flying directly at you or is at an unusual attitude.
