About the new 21st P-51 Special Feature?

Any guesses of the never before seen feature on the upcoming P-51 plane from 21st? It is mentioned on the Area 21 site. I'm guessing motorized prop.

Nah, I'd say they're likely to incorporate a detailed engine compartment, something that was "supposed" to be on Bbi's bird but obviously wasn't. That would be SMART for 21st to do, come thru where Bbi fell short as I'm sure most were like me and very disappointed to discover the detailed engine was non-existant on the Bbi plane...
That's one thing no 21st WW2 plane has ever had unless I'm forgetting something, a detailed engine with removeable panels.

I'd agree with that..
If the P-51 was motorized, I would think they would be advertising it outloud rather than keeping it "secret"..
A detailed engine would probably appeal more to collectors for even more display options..

An engine compartment seems to be most likely, but then again, to partly quote the 21c site, an engine compartment has been seen in a 1:18 scale aircraft - the AH-1W, so that may not be the new feature "never before seen" feature. Anyone consider "bomb-dropping" action? It can be done, and I've seen it on smaller planes. However, thats not really a practical feature for collector purposes...

I wouldn't mind bomb dropping, and definatly wouldn't mind motorized prop... but a removeable engine compartment would be rather cool.

My guess is either detailed engine with removable body panels; or opening MG hatches with detailed guns and ammo belts.

What is the loose "door" in the video just behind the lower air intake?
The fingers examine it just just a quick second, but don't show what it is well.
Thanks

Bomb dropping action would be cool. I'd buy a whole squadron then set up my Germans and fly strafing runs. I think it'd be cool if they made it R/C, with the bomb dropping action. If that was the case I'd build a German HQ then fly strafing runs! Well what ever they do it should be good.

The Cobra isn't WW2..

I still can't see motorizing, a bomb drop mechanism is feasible and simple, just look at the Monogram Action series from the 60's & 70's. Electronic sounds would be ok, easy and affordable for the manufacturer as well.

anyone notice that the landing gear was not lowered in the video? think it could have teliscoping gear?

Telescoping gear, while feasable, would be another feature that hasn't been attempted yet on a 1:18 aircraft. We can seemingly go on and on concerning "never before seen" features for this plane.
Gun Access

This may be old news to 1/32 guys, but did I notice gun access in the 32x 262? That would be an awesome feature in 1:18. That's too cool.
On a side note, as an armor collector I'm always jealous of the 1/32 guys. Now the AC collectors can feel my pain
