Has anyone thought of this?

Post by dandaman » Sat Apr 26, 2008 4:27 pm

Has anyone thought of buying up all the pegwarmers just to help others out? (So they'll put out new figures.)

Hey Blasto, you seem to have an excess of $$ to spend on figures, why don't you buy up all the Platoon guys for us? We're tired of looking at them.

I would like simply to find the Platoon figures :?

But I have considered your idea in some respects. I would buy all the figures from a local store and return them to another outlying Wal Mart in the vain hope that something new gets stocked at the local store. However, the problem is that in my area, all the Wal Marts near and far have tons of the exact same D-Day figures so it really wouldn't help the situation out...

Got a boat load of those Platoon figs down here nothing else.
No I will not buy them all up. Has anybody else helped me out and saved some of the other things that went on sale. The P-40 the Me-109s and the P-51 for $20 ? No They buy the good stuff and leave the junk.

I bet you if we all bought them all up, they would restock the platoon figures all over again. :( And if we bought the rest of the ww2 figs they would stock the platoon figs.

I would love to walk in to wm or tru and see the 2 packs but i know thats never going to happened.

I've bought out WWII figures before and know one last WM that has some of the new 21st WWII figures and am thinking about it. As for the Platoon figures, I've bought 2 sets and swapped the heads out, but why buy more :? I have a box of the platoon fig.s and 21st fig.s as well as the DAK guys, but I should be able to convert some of the DAK to Staff personal. I hope to sell off all the modern fig.s and hopefully the VN and platoon fig.s too. But buying soldiers other than those I model just to empty the pegs is just foolish, unless I can sell them  Da General

I guess this board has changed. "No one helped me so I won't help others?" I never thought I would hear something like that on this board....

In the past I've had three different guys on this board, who I did not personally know, go so far as to buy stuff, they knew I had mentioned that I wanted, and they brought it home and waited until I got to them and charged me what they had paid.

That's the spirit of cooperation we always had that made this board one of the greatest, friendliest boards in the ether.

I have to admit, buying all peg warmers up so the store will restock doesn't make sense to me. As Stug45 said, the store would just restock the same figs..

sure - I've picked up pegwarmers - I've cleared out three-four jeep drivers I have tons of figures - I have too many figures -

I keep saying this 21st but do you listen?
Why are you not putting different figures from different waves in your shipments? 3-4 Platoon figures 3-4 DAK 3-4 Germans or US?
Mixing and matching has worked well for other toy companies - why will it in work for you?
