ALL-NEW BBI 1/18 plane?
ALL-NEW BBI 1/18 plane?
It's been real quiet on the BBI 1/18 front lately, so two questions:
1. Any rumors/speculation on the next ALL-NEW BBI 1/18 plane?
2. Will BBI ever release an ALL-NEW 1/18 modern jet to follow its F-16 and F/A-18?

new AC
One of the rumors was of a 109G. A few us said a new E model would be welcome but the 21C 109G is still among 1:18's finest.
109
That was already out when we got this recon. From someone on here at a foreign show. Maybe they could comment. IIRC, they called the 1/32 104 which turned out to be true.didnt the 109 turn out to be 1/24 scale and it wasn't BBI it was Merit....

That would probably be impossible since BBi maintains a credible price point. $99.99 for a Thunderbird F-16 is definitely a value. IMHO.gustav wrote:It would probably be a good idea to preempt any possible BBI aircraft announcement by first complaining for multiple pages about its price.

The more I think about BBI, the more I wonder what direction they're heading in. All of their recent releases have been 1/32. If BBI is emphasizing 1/32 over 1/18, that may mean there's a hope they will release 1/32 modern jets---which is what I really want (F-15, F-14, SR-71, etc.) since they have included older jets such as the F-4J and the new F-104.
Since BBI will release 1/32 WW II planes (F4F, SBD), there's hope that a 1/32 Spitfire and a P-47D Gabreski will follow.
I'll take an F-15, F-14 and a P-47D Gabreski in ANY SCALE---and it looks like if they are released, they will be 1/32.

It was c00per who spotted a 2008 release schedule for BBI that showed the 1/32nd scale F-104, and F4F..... Both of those proved to be in the works. He seemed pretty confident that the me-109 was 1/18. Here is the link to that thread....

I'd be excited to see what kind of weathering, and detail BBi could demonstrate with German aircraft.

It would probably be a good idea to preempt any possible BBI aircraft announcement by first complaining for multiple pages about its price.

Hey guys,
here is the link to the new bbi Me-109:
http://www.warbirdmodelle.de
The site only shows the new model if you leave the language in german. You have to check "Flugzeuge 1/18" (upper left side of the page), then "VORSCHAU 2008" and then you can see the Me-109

By the way: the site mentioned above also shows a 1/18 starfighter in a "Bavarian" paint scheme. I havn´t heard or seen this one before (or maybe I missed it on the forum). Looks nice, too.
As for the other questions regarding the 1/32 bbi starfighter:
I can only answer them for germany:
1. I guess the price will be about 40-45 Euro (which equals 60-70 US-$ at the moment)
2. They are schedule for release in the third quarter this year
3. TRU in Germany does not carry any 21st C., bbi or AT stuff. So I guess it will be a etailers only thing......
