Isn't that the same guy who auctioned off that ME-262 custom? I recognize the camo pattern...
He really likes that camo pattern...

he like mazes, maybe he is a minotaur? I mean it is possible right?
I remember reading that Minotaurs were big ww2 German aviation buffs, even though it had not happened yet.
Well thats Greek mythology for you. I mean, a lady and a swan go it on! OH RIGHT! So now a minotaur that likes ww2 fighters and painting them with Greek pottery style maze patterns. I could happen, or has....whatever.

Gd ,
You are right he loves this pattern . This is his third plane using it. First a Stuka then the 262 now the 190. This pattern if it was actualy used would be a DAK scheme. Not a Russian front one. If you look at the pic of the subject pilot he is in the cockpit of a 190 with white distemper paint.
As I recall the Stuka went for about $250. The 262 for $800 !! There is no telling what this will go for.
It aint right. To my knowlage there were very few 190's in Africa. That battle was over before the 190 D was made . So once again here is another fictious paint sheme for this " Expert on the Luftwaffe" seller

well as i said,
it's minotaur and he is just guessing
but you are right, i think a pattern like that would be seen in Russia on planes and tanks, but more angular and ummm, more of a white and grey/black scheme going on.
I know I have seen it in white and black,
but i think the lines where more broken up if the were curved like that, more of a question mark pattern
As for his claims to being published in Fine Scale Modeler? Probably the Reader's gallery. If not, you might htink he would throw his name out or a hint leading us to his website where h cranks these out for living, at least actual models if not 21stC re-paints.
But i will look up some camo for JG 54. I am sure we have all seen the green hearts planes now and then and I don't remember them even getting too wild in the pattern department, more decorative that camo. And this thing looks like a tricked out storch. But who knows maybe it is a camo for the summer steppe?

well heck,
never seen this sight before and it is an excellent site to get weathering details from let alone paint schemes.
i did a cursory look but it is pretty extensive. I see more of a mottle or spotted look to anything near brown or tan in a FW. And even then it is pretty muted and not so dramatic.
here is this interesting site, good stuff looks like IL2 skins but then again.....
