No way!
There are plenty of scale models in 1/32.
Why would I buy XD in 1/32 and not build what I want?
I donated my vast collection of 1/32 aircraft to Andy's Hobby Towne in Baton Rouge years ago.
I still have a few cool ones like the Ki-61, N1K1 and P-35.

Are you holding out for 1/18 or going 1/32?

I do 1/72nd, 1/48, 1/32, and 1/18. There is waaaaay too much cool stuff in 1/32 we'll never see in 1/18 not to collect it and miss out.

I go both ways, or more like several ways when you count in 1:144, 1:72, 1:48, and a little 1:6 as well

1/18 and 1/6....... till the end.... well, to be honest I've been looking at some really nice 1/48 bombers. Planes.... jeeeez....me?..... but I haven't made the plunge yet but where else can you find a Mosquito, B-24, B-25, B-26, German twins. BTW - I believe 21C will never bring out a 1/18 B-25

Maybe, I'd consider 1/32 if bombers were there.... they are doable..

I am mainly 1/32, I also collect a few 1:18, 1:48, 1:72, 1:144 stuff.

Staying with 1:18 i have to much in 1:18 to go to another size.

Let us see . I have a bunch of 1/6 stuff some 1/35 some 1/32 and a bunch of 1/18 stuff. A little 1/4 stuff I was into r/c for a while and 1/1 stuff. I would trade it all to get everything that I have ever wanted in 1/18 scale.
Except for the 1/1 stuff of course.

1/18 for me, my hands are to huge for any thing else.

I am, and always will be a 1/18 scale collector. Even if 1/18 were to take a dump tomorrow, I would still enjoy the 1/18 scale items that I already have far more than anything in any smaller scale. I do have a collection of 1/48 scale diecast planes and a very limited number 1/72 items, but they just don't compare to my 1/18 scale stuff. Again, its all about the WOW factor.

Why is it that to some 1/18 and 1/32 are mutually exclusive? This is an honest question with no sarcasm. I display both, albeit in different rooms.

I like all of the XD (ac, armor, figs). But, I only do 32x for planes.

Strictly 1/18.

Like I stated in another thread I reall like my 1/18 scale aircraft, and I have a few. (around thirty or so).

I also collect 1/72 aircraft. I like the variety of planes in that scale.

At this time I have two planes in 1/32, and both have the skull and cross bones on them. (VF-17 F4U-1A "Big Hog", and VF-84 F4J Phantom) Like I said I'm a sucker for the skull and cross bones. What I find tempting about 1/32 is all the differant planes available. There are 190 A's, F's, and D's, P51 B/C's and D's, Macchi 202's, and 205's, 109 E's, F's, and G's. plus the release of the F4F wildcat in the near future. It is hard to ignore this scale.

And no 1/18, and 1/32 is not mutually exclusive, but I do not have the room for two large scale collections as well as my 1/72 collection.

robocop terminator etc I collect in other scales,

Changing scales is like changing homes to me at this point... Get into something new, it's just more money to spend, so 1:18 still is my home. It's a scale that's coming back in the toy industry so I'm glad I'm into this scale and don't branch out of it really.

The other thing I consider is that 1:32 goes from being toys to being more like collecting models. Which is great, but it's not a "toy" anymore. The aspect of collecting toys is part of the appeal... Figures that pose/move, tons of opening hatches and moving parts... I feel the same way about other toy lines I'm into too. They're toys, but the companies do try to keep them as a toy that appeals to an adult... A super poseable figure that's realistic, etc. That's why I'm here. Going to 1:32 would just mean all that "poseability" and fun aspect sort of goes out the window. It's not as much a "toy" to me then anymore.

Exactly my point.
If I was collecting models, it would be 1/48 or 1/32 now that there are more available.

Now THIS makes sense to me. I would agree that 1/32 is more for show than 1/18.

Of course, it is kinda hard to play with a 1/18 Hornet. Mine has to bank to get through a doorway and pull 8+ Gs to stay in the living room.
