Small Scale Military Headquarters

I bought a FW 190 and one of the landing gear pivot pins is broken.
I'm sure I can fix the landing gear by drilling a hole through the gear strut and putting a metal pin in place of it, but I need to seperate the wing halves in order to reinstall the gear/strut back into the wing.
How do I seperate the upper wing from the lower wing? Are thet glued together or just pressed/snapped together?

I think the wings are screwed together, with "plugs" covering the screw holes.. I couldn't begin to tell you how to get them apart though...

I'm you're guy. I busted mine right after getting the plane. The wing comes apart after unscrewing the 4 screws that hold it together. The plugs can be carefully removed with a tip of a knife. I fixed mine by heating up a cut down nail that was about the same diameter as the pin and driving it into the strut where the pin was. Once it cooled, it was stronger than the pin it replaced.

It takes a bit to get the 2 halves together since you have to make sure the flap and aileron are in their proper positions along with the landing gear.

We could also use a 1:18 aircraft mechanic or two! They could come with wrenches and other such mechanic accessories.

The same thing happened to my plane after I got it. I repaired mine with a small tension pin I had laying around, (essentially a metal rod) and so far so good it appears stronger than the original. I had to repair a flap also-used small wire and it seems to be working OK too-it actually gives it slightly more movement than before. I wonder if there is much interest in a customizing thread for the 1:18 planes?
