M240B in 1/18 scale?

Post by USCGSARdog » Sun Mar 02, 2008 5:08 pm

Could anyone tell me which, if any of the FOV or bbi modern figures included the M240B or any other M240 MG variant? Is there anyone that produces 1/18 scale weapons that may have a M240B? I'm looking to score a couple for a custom project I am working on.

Thanks!

-Rob

I made some visual 1:18 weapon identification guides a while back with the help of several forum members. Anyway, here is the link. There is at least one 240 if I recall correctly.

Thanks grunt1, nice work. So am I correct in the understanding that the M240 in your pics is a bbi item? If so, do you recall which figure it was included with?

Check out this fig from BBI:

Plus two figs from FOV:

And yes, it was also available in a weapons set, but that will be pretty hard to find:

parish333 has covered all the ones i know of probably the easiest ones to find for US fans at the moment will be the FOV figures. I havehave suggested to Marauder Inc that a FN mag would be a great addition to his releases but am not sure he thinks there is a market for it. Wave 5 should be announced shortly so fingures crossed! Hope you find what you need anyway! :D

Hey Scope UK --- where does Marauder make its announcements? On the Joe Boards? I can't get enough of his stuff - best and cheapest way to customize your own little armory!

Anyhow, keep us posted when you find out about wave 5 - I can't wait to see what's in store!

p.s.: what's an FN mag?

John posts on numerous boards and leaves little hints on different ones of what will be in his next wave
if you check this link there is a round up from greenshirt of things John has hinted at:

I like the sound of the Scar! also i did see him hint at another knife on joe customs. When i see pictures i am sure they will be posted here.

The FN Mag is the machine gum that the British army and numerous other armies use:

The M240B/G that the US uses is a version of the FN Mag or as we brits call it the GPMG or Gimpy :D .

The BBI 240 is also available in some of the Combat Command sets.

Doh! I feel like a dope for not knowing that. We Americans can be a bit US-centric and think that we invented everything  I guess the truth is we get a lot of "our" good guns from others, including the M-60, M-240, M-249, etc.

I'm pretty sure we made the M-1 Abrams, but that will probably turn out to have a Honda engine or something....I mean why else is it so reliable?

Well, you're almost right.

You know that big 'ol 120mm, smooth bore gun that gives the M-1 its punch? Yep, it's a German design.
