Geez, I hope not. They looked like a fairly promising outfit from the little I have seen of them.

I'm sure there is a logical explanation..... (little green men)

I remember him saying on the e-bay in the building process or something to that effect. This would meen to me that he builds the Corsair. Which we all know this is not the case. They do repaints not builds. Could this have gotten them in Dutch? They do a good job of paint . There first scheme did not appeal to me but there was potenial of other variants.

Kismit babby ?

I received plane #3 from Patrick on Thursday.

My Corsair started out life as a bbi "Daisy June" version.

If you get within a few inches you can see the original markings underneath the new paint. However from 12 inches or more the original markings cannot be seen. The plane is beautiful.

It is quite possible bbi may be putting the squeeze on them to stop.

Here is why I think so...

On the bottom of the wing center section right next to the "bbi Blue Box" logo you see the "AIRSTRIKE TOYS, LLC” logo. There is also a unique number assigned to the plane as well. Mine is "No 01-03"

I hope AIRSTRIKE can continue to make these beautiful repaints. I was looking forward to adding them to my collection. Patrick brought some much needed excitement back to the 1:18 line of aircraft.

Good luck Patrick.
I wish you well.

They didn't remove, or at least sand down the original markings? :? I'm sorry, but that's kind of amateur-ish of them...

And yes, if BBI haven't put a squeeze on them, yet, they probably will in the future. Maybe if they just market these planes as custom repaints, instead of making it look like these are their own planes to begin with, BBI won't even bother.

I mean....I can't re-repaint and re-package my MacFarlane figures and put a "Googly Toys LLC" marking on them...or can I...

He made it real clear in very large brightly coloured letters, on his website and ebay that he was taking existing models from BBI, etc and repainting them. He did not claim that he was starting from scratch with these.

By keeping the moulded in marking showing BBI he was also acknowledging the source of the base model.

If BBI has a problem it would also mean we can't sell a used car that we'd repainted!!

Yes I saw that too, but I didn't realize he actually put LLC markings on the planes.

Isn't the purpose of such markings is to tell the world that this product is "Mine! My own! No one should copy this!"

Right? :?

I'm no copyright expert, but I don't think you can do that...I mean it's one thing to make a custom model now and again for profit, but to actually build a company based on that.

Especially since that BBI, 21st, AT makes their profits off re-paints.

I was wondering if BBI was gonna send them some nice letters.

Besides I don's see paying the money for a repaint unless I knew someone in that unit etc.
