Would you buy another P-51D at TRU

Post by STUKA » Sat Feb 02, 2008 7:10 pm

With over %90 of those polled saying they would buy another Spitfire lets see where we are on the P-51Ds
Regardless of paint scheme, and strictly the D Model since that is what 21st has on the aisle...

also which would you buy given the chance to pick between a new Spitfire or New P-51D paint scheme.

Are you asking if we would buy another Mustang of which there are about 20 between both manufacturers or a Spitfire which has been sold out for years and there were only 4 schemes made?

I would really like to see 21st Century do their Mustang in an F-51 paint scheme from the Korean war. That would look cool with my F-86s.

Well, my local TRU got in a "Flying Undertaker" P-51D, and since I already had that one, I didn't get it

A Spitfire would be very cool, but then they would probably release the NKK and DWK version, both of which I have as well...

When you start talking about a P-51B, then get back with me.... I can't tell you how much I would kill to see Kid Hofer's "Salem Representative" compete with a Malcom hood..... That would be a dream!

HELL YEAH... there aren't enough mustangs available. It's like a bloody drought! Bring them on. They should release a new one every month for the next 5 years.

I believe the only major difference between the B and C models is where they were made.

That is correct. The P-51B was made in Inglewood California, and the P-51C was made in Dallas Texas.

Come on guys don't make me pull my books out. I think there was a little more between the B and C than the local of the builders. Or is that really the only diff. You have the bird cage , the malcom and the C with the bubble canopy with the the un finned rudder. That was a C not a D. Unless my memory fails. I could go pull the books but it is getting late.

Timbo is correct, the only Difference between the factory model B and C versions of the P-51 were where they were made. Other modifications to the canopy were battlefield conversions and not universal.
