The last 1:18 Pz IVs were $49.99 at Walmart, before they went on clearance.

And yes, I called this -
as this Panther is the harbinger of 1:18/XDs demise....

I love it - looks great being I only saw the first Panther at TRU many moons ago and passed. I can finally get one!

I don't own a 1/18 Panther, so this will be a welcome addition to the collection. I think the camo pattern looks great. Are chances pretty good that it will come with a tanker figure as well?
It is what it is.

TKO, thank you for the info. 21C, well done. I think you can milk those old molds for years as we bring new collectors into the fold!

On a related note, think of all the poor SOBs who have been trying to put their kids through college selling XD on e-bay. My guess is Panthers will be going for peanuts now as these are in the pipeline. What is next for the speculators? Will we see a rush of cobras as everyone tries to offload them now before a re-release? No more $200 purchases! Yeah!

For those at 21st century. I know this might be a long shot but have you ever considered not putting the numbers on the tanks and instead including a decal sheet so we can buy more and fill our battalions with different numbers. Just an idea.

The Osprey Publishing New Vanguard Series title Panther Medium Tank 1942-45 contains this excellent 3-view drawing of a Panther D of the 13th Panzer Division in Russia, Autumn 1943. It should be familiar to those of us who have the FOV 1/32 Panther G Series 1. Apparently, 21st Century likes the image, also.

This is my first attempt at a self-published image, so please bear with me until I get the hang of it.

YES!!!! the Panther is back. I need a few of these because I cut up 2 for customs. Great news!
TKO, would ask 21st or Roy why they haven't made a Jagdpanther. I know we have been asking for one for years. I wanted one so bad I had to make it myself.

Ski, what section is the profile album in?
Thanks, Normandy.

Think I will finally get one of these. That is, if I can find them.

Maybe my old brain is wearing out, but it seems like 21C has used this camo scheme several times already in the 1/32 line. Not just on the Panther, but on others too.
Were not the early (S2) camo versions of the Tiger, Sd 222 armored car and the original halftrack all done in this same three tone camo?

[+] > Similar , but no , not exactly. This scheme is still different in respects w/ what 21st.C has done. Perhaps "tko211" hopefully will fill in and reiterate this answer to your question here.

The scheme is certainly different, but like the S2 Pak-40, it goes along with the "Eastern Front cammo" Tiger and Hanomag and won't look out of place.

No, it isn't the same scheme... But one thing to remember is that the three-toned camo is standard on German armor.. This is like saying, Oh no, another Olive Drab Sherman!!

GARY1930:

Thanks. Two more questions:

1. What was the Panther's Wal-Mart clearance price?
2. What are the odds of Wal-Mart and ToysRUs selling the new Panther?

That what I would bet on.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

I agree - I have five rolls of quarters saved up for the Tiger II or the Panther - or 88 - whatever hits the store first
