I now I was ranting earlier on WM and TRU. Well this evening we went to both to see what the status was. First WM, had Tigers and M113 for $35,and 1:6 Kubelwagen and Mutts  Anyway I am going to wait for the M113 to get cheaper or try Ebay.
We then went to one of the closer TRU and since the baby was sleeping in the car, I asked my wife to run in real quick to "recon" . Well 10min later she comes back and puts a bag in the back seat. She goes "I thought it would be easier to show you if I bought the BBI Sherman(which she likes better then 21st) and the BBI Super Humvee"
I agree with her that the BBI tank is better then 21st, which is good for competion. I'm not sure on the Hummer but BBIs is cool. We did'nt bother w/ going to the other TRU and check for the Kiowa. I figure 2 out of 3 is'nt bad. So it seems like there is a glimmer of hope for TRU in the St. Louis area. I did'nt mind getting the BBi sherman cause of its a different model designation w/ a bigger main gun. What year did they change the shermans in WWII?
here is a couple of pics....gotta love the accessories that came w/ BBIs Sherman

Now that's a "keeper" wife... My wife is GREAT and lets me buy, but she won't just buy for me... I'd hang on to her if I were you..
My local TRU had the Humvee, Sherman and Kiowa.. I was hoping for the P-51 to show up, but it hasn't yet..

The Sherman was constantly going through changes. I started studying Shermans about a year and a half ago. There is soooo much to learn. I am sure there are some seasoned Shermaholics on here that could give allot better list of variants than I can. The 105mm gun is a howitzer, for artillery.

A short list of changes:
9 cylinder Continental radial motor vs. Ford GAA V-8, which I believe is a cut down (Merlin?) V-12
VVSS (narrow tracks) vs. HVSS (wide tracks) T-84 or T-66, both wide tracks
Cast hull vs. welded hull (2 types)
75mm gun vs. 105mm gun
T-23 turret with 76mm high velocity gun
Several hatch configurations for the turret.

Like I said there is allot of changes, these I listed with out my references...please forgive any mistakes.

Look up the M4 Sherman on the internet. It makes for a good read and good hunting to find info. I can't get enough.
