I noticed this auction today, if anyone's interested. No, I'm not connected in any way with the seller! Tempted to bid, but since I already have one I'd rather save space for upcoming aircraft and armor releases....

WOW! Pretty good price for those Patton tanks. I noticed the Vietnam figures are selling well too on EBAY!

I've been keeping an eye out for the grenadier figure lately. Only one I (stupidly!) didn't buy when they were released a few years ago....

I'll bet if 21st releases that "Sahara" line, which includes the M48, you'll see several "Collectors" start putting a ton of the original issues on evilbay.

Now thats the icing on the cake - seeing my pieces go up in value! I have the M-48 and bought it for pleasure purposes and not for potential value. It is displayed out of the box (though I saved the box and can reinsert the vehicle) with an extra tanker figure and a couple of soldiers riding on the back. Knowing that it currently is worth something due to its being a TRU exclusive that has yet to be rereleased is comforting.

Toys used to be us was practically giving m-48's away at one time($20.00)
on clearance.Sounds like it might be time to sell some of those extra units.
Just about the time I sell off my Pattons, they will come out with a T-55.

In the catalog that Teamski posted, 21st states that the Platoon toy line will include a set of 10 figures and the mutt and huey. The Sahara line will also include the huey and will return the patton to production.

Keeping in mind the big "if" that always surrounds what is proposed at Toy Fair and what actually gets to store shelves months later, it's possible that just about all of the Nam stuff will be out again this year.

I literally purchased all the M48's I could find, sold around 12-14 to various board members over on GP's site, this is when they had been clearance at the $19.99, I was fortunate to have purchased the last three at $9.99...and had been keeping my eye on roughly 4-5 M48's that had been at a store, and once the clearance price started registering on the scanner, I come to find out the store that had them, was destroyed by a roof collapse, and they've still not rebuilt the store..and I fear all the XD they had, which in my AO (Maryland) had the best selection by far, at the time. I recall 12-14 different Aircraft, the M48's, the US and German Halftracks, countless M41's, the Navy SEAL jeep, several first issue Tigers, tons of the Para figs and if memory serves me correct, I believe 1-2 first issue Hueys.....were all more than likely trashed (literally) as 60-70% of the roof had collapsed from rain damage.

I agree 100% the big "what if?". I do believe if they were to re-release this piece, it would be very popular as most of the newer collectors missed out on that item when it was first released. I'd really like to see 21st do a modern 1:18 tank like Abrams mentioned, and possibly some "import" tanks such as the Merkava, Chally, T-72 or T-80, Leopard...and make the same detail, interior wise as was found on the Tiger.

Guys - I should also report that there was a repainted M-48 amongst the platoon stuff. Nothing crazy but they did get rid of the USMC markings so I wouldn't be surprised to see that tank re-released in a normal paint job down the line (for the people who don't want to repaint the Sahara version)....
