A-6 Intruder

Post by 75th Ranger » Sat Feb 12, 2005 8:58 pm

hello guys,
I was wondering if any of you know if the are any plans of making an A-6 Intruder plane in 1/18 scale.
I really like theat plane and i would really love to get onne especially when the two pilots sit side by side.
Plus it would be great for a Nam or Moodern campaing setting diorama.
Does anyone have any news?...
Keep me posted

Well I don't have any news but I'd like to see it get made. I mean its not 1st on my list of planes I'd like to see made next but I would definitely pick one up if they made it. But then I don't think theres a plane they could make that I wouldn't buy

Hadn't thought of that one, but a 1:18 A-6 would be an awesome addition to the Viet Nam line! Its such a unique looking plane, and it had a long service record. One painted in Navy colors from Viet Nam would be awesome. You could include tons of ordinance, a detailed cockpit, have the folding wings and airbrakes. I doubt 21st would produce it - its a large plane, they would probably say it has few repaint possibilities and little recognition factor, and so on... BBI listening? That company has already made some large jets, so why not change gears a little and take on some Viet Nam era planes!

This topic reminds me of the film, "Flight of the Intruder." I like that movie and haven't seen it in ages! Recalling some of those low level bombing scenes over a SAM site makes me want a 1:18 A-6 even more!

Absolutely YES! the A-6E one of my alltime favorite A/C. An uncle flew those before transitioning into Bugs, that airframe was one hell of a workhorse from Vietnam up through DS and a few years beyond all of the pilots that flew 'em, loved 'em. Would also like to the Prowler version (EA-6B)

I'd love to see one, but man, it would be by far the largest plane made. It ain't small, ya know.....

i can honestly admit that i would kill a man to get my hands on an A6 in 1:18, hands down one of my fav planes of all time...it would be difficult for me not to buy a whole squadron of these if they were ever released, dont care if they were nam or desert storm paint schemes, would love one of these.

While we are on this subject, why not wish for an EA6-B? With this version, one could have 4-figures onboard. They could go in a jam radar, before the A-6's do their thing.

Living near Whidbey Island NAS, I often see the EA6-Bs doing their thing, also when I was aboard America, spent many hours with VAQ-137 "Rooks" squadron personnel. Would be nice to see that plane in 1:18, would be awsome.

I would buy one. I agree, it would be cool to have all kinds of different ordinance.

Sure would be nice. The odds this plane would be made in 1/18 are 3720 to 1. :)

Yes, I would like one very very much, thank you.

It was "Flight of the Intruder" that really made me like this one, as well as the Skyraider.

I would like one as well. But it is not a must have in my book of must haves.

I will take any new 1:18 scale aircraft. (including an intruder) -But I have to say that the A-6 is pretty far down on my list of favorite planes. Aside from other obvious planes that still need to be made I would rather see the following far sooner than the intruder.

Crusader
Mirage
Airacobra
Tony
Wildcat
me-110
me-163 (not the $350 option)
Super Sabre
Skyhawk

I could go on.
