1/18 figure question

I have been picking up 1/18 figures like mad over the last few months; prior to that I was strictly small scale. My question is I can't get the US D day figures helmets to fit. Did I just get some from a bunk production run or is it SOP to shave heads or something?

I have all of the FOV figures, D day, Marine Camo, Japanese, BBI paratrooper, recent modern releases, the eastern warrior and special forces figures and have started on the BoB figures. If I were going to try to purchase off e-bay or trade for some older figure offerings which are the nicest? Which are the rarest?

Thanks in advance.

The S1 US and German figures are also getting much more rare - not Fallschrimjager rare, but you'll have to pay for them. The old Vietnam figures also go for alot, especially the Viet Kong, NVA Regular, Navy Seal and M60 gunner figure. Heck, even the $1 Tanker figures can bring at least $10 on ebay. Unless you want to be a completist, however, you might as well pass on them. The S1 US, Germans, and Vietnam troops all have very good paint jobs, but the faces are cartoony and the articulation stinks. Still...

To answer your first question, I've had that problemo too. My solution was to soak the helmet in boiling water for a couple minutes to soften it up. Then jam it onto the head and it will conform better, and cool (harden) in the right shape.

To answer your second question, I think the whole 21C XD paratrooper line was awesome - 6 US and 6 German, of which the German are more rare and expensive.

The modern-era BBI Navy Seals are pretty sweet too; they come with some really nice accessories. I especially love the diver fig. The joints were a bit prone to breakage on the original line though (I think they were later re-issued with less breakage-prone joints). Also there is a rare Seal boat that came with that line which I never was able to find at retail but looked pretty sweet!
