new models awaited
Now on top of the 38t and marder, the 32 scale members have been spoilt with a hetzer. Just reminds me again what 21st are capable of. Its seems hard to image, but its about now the 1/18 members start asking for news on new 1/18 items, so we can begin the countdown for the next 12 months for them to appear. Given the the range now in 1/32, hopefully Roy is willing to consider transforming a couple more to 1/18. The KT and 88 are all the focus by the board, but once released, we will need something else in the pipeline, otherwise it will be even a longer wait. So TKO, please put the feelers out to Roy for some new offerings.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if they re-issued some Panthers and Panzer IV's-- in additional configurations and re-paints.
Maybe that would tone down the outrageous EBay bidding frenzies on these items and bring the price down where I could justify having one or two different paint schemes for the various theaters of combat.
--and of course something capable of towing the 88 mm Flak
As for aircraft---a Hurricane would be nice, then the B-25, maybe a Mosquito or JU-88 or Bf 110, then a Heinkel 111, followed by a B-17 (I can dream, can't I?)
Cheers

No, you can't dream. It is not allowed on this board as all dreams crash and burn just like MiG-21s against F-4 Phantoms. Dreams are the enemy. They are the reason why we have nothing, why things are bad, they caused 9/11, they caused global warming, they caused Jane Fonda, they caused Hitler, they caused Teletubbies and worst of all, they cause us to drool for 2 years until something finally gets into our hands... or close to 'em...
Then after that, STOMP STOMP STOMPITY STOMP! We drool all over the floor, again...
I'm only kidding!
I dream about a 1:18 B-17, and 1:32... Mmmm... MiG-29?
DREAMWEAVERRRRRR... Haha...

A U-boat in 1:18? 1:32? Oh god? I dream so hardcore that I plan out where I'd put it...
It'd probably come with a special stand, so I'd build a shelf, just for it... O.O But the 1:18 would be like... sorry baby, backyard for you.

We've kind of strayed off topic, but I am always interested in all kinds of militaria, and I find WW II submarines particularily facinating.
1/72 would probably be about the right scale for a U-boat model. One reference I have indicates that the Type VII-C was 67.1 meters long. That comes out to 220.14 ft. At 1:72 scale, the model would be just over 3 ft long.
That's not too large for displaying in the home, but a nice size to include plenty of detail.
Although there are several kits in that scale offered of both German and US WWII submarines, oddly---nobody that I am aware of sells a prepainted plastic of diecast model WW II sub in any scale.
There are some large sub models offered at a couple of marine models sites, but these are hand made semi-custom items that cost $500 to $1000. There are also some RC model kits, but these cost that much or more.
Anyway, I would welcome such a model, and it would fit perfectly on the mantle of my fireplace. I guess if I really want one bad enough, I am going to have to build it myself.
I have to dig my airbrush, compressor, and modeling supplies out of storage anyway for another project I, so a sub build might just be worth considering.
Cheers

The two sub kits, I'm working up towards are both 1/72:
Type VIIC U-Boat which is 36 3/4 inches long, at $80
Gato Class Fleet U.S. Boat which is 52" inches long, at $100
They both look detailed and come with all sorts of neat stuff like choice of markings and different conning towers.
Only drawback for these old fat fingers are that they are a kit. My kits lately have only been in 1/6. 1/6 is alot easier on the fingers and the painting is better using spray cans..... OK, Ok, so the bolt counters use air brush even on 1/6 but the outcome is great for me....
These boats are just too big for even 1/32. Almost any boats would be too big for 1/18 outside of a LCVP or similar. How about the VN river boat 21C was gonna make a few years, that just disapeared...

Yes, but, think of the "Oh my dear god, Honey, I'm going to kill you..." factor...
"Sweety, put the knife down..."

Put it in the backyard, in it's own housing...
1:32 U-boat...
