Re: QUESTION REGARDING Bbi F-18
They don't come off, unless you want to take the whole bird apart.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Actually, they do come off
if you use a couple of flat-bladed screwdrivers, a fair amount of effort
.... and some rude language when you hear the sound of cracking plastic.
I started by lifting the leading edge of the starboard stab by hand and shoving a screwdriver underneath it heading centrewards, then levering against the top surface of the fuselage. The loud "snap!" persuaded me that I should quite while I was still slightly ahead - I think it was only (!) part of the front locator tab that broke off as there's now a small bit of plastic rattling around loose in there somewhere. Oh, and a couple of dents in the bottom of the fin where the metal screwdriver blade crushed the plastic
((Note to self - if someone says something cannot be done, there is often a good reason for it! D'Oh!))
