What is going to be new from 21st & BBI?????

Roy - And as the working relationship between the factory and myself improves, I think you will see even bigger improvements in quality and detail. I’m pretty excited about the next five forthcoming airplanes. They all seem like they’re going to be real, real beautiful.
But then I saw here that the planes are the Avenger, F-104, F-86, Mig-15, and the Me262. Thats five but again in the interview, he mentioned the Me110. So is it true we're looking at 6 planes this year?
Any info on what the new armour is?
And any info on whats up w/ BBI? I have'nt bought there WWII items, but I really dig their helos over 21st. and their F-16 & 18 are AWSOME. On the other side I ended up buying the BBI Abrams and LAV off of Ebay for half of what they sold for, and I glad i did. Nothing special to them so the $50 and $40 that they sold for at stores did'nt seem worth it, just my .02
I think the best tank is the 21st Tiger(grey) to where the turrent comes off and you can see the detailed inside.
Anyway if anyone has more new info, pass along please.

Well...as far as 21st goes i think there is somewhat of a clear picture of what is in store for this year. In addition to the 6 planes you mentioned the new P-51 is coming out. I would think we'll see one or two other new aircraft as well, maybe.
Armour-wise he said 'one or two big surprises' and that was on top of more armour. so i'm guessing we'll see 3 or 4 armour pieces this year (one of which i hunch wiill be a king tiger and another an Abrams).
Also will be their Sahara, Platoon and maybe Bridge Too Far lines. I am hopeful that the Platoon line will at some point have a reworked M113 (with the big mouth on it like in the movie) and a PBR (even though there weren't any in the movie it's been around in prototype form for years and this would seem like a good excuse to release it).
Now, as far as BBI goes. I don't have a clue. We could see nothing, we could see tons of stuff or anything in between. If i had to guess i would guess we'll see a couple of WWII planes (Hellcat being one), another American WWII tank (Pershing is my guess) and for modern probably one big plane (harrier is most likely but F-14, F-15 and A-10 are possibilities). I don't know that we'll see any more modern armour but i would love an AAV. I have a feeling we won't be seeing any German or other 'enemy' stuff from BBI.
Toy Fair is 11 days away and we may get some concrete news from BBI, although their showing at last years NY Toy Fair was pretty poor as i recall...
yup

Well said by the bossman but I would just add the bbi WWII figures as strong possibility. I really hope they weren't ditched for some reason - they were really awesome. I thought they were the best 1:18 military figures I had ever seen....
(Btw WWII, you don't have the Mustang or Sherman? You sure got the space! Get them, you will be pleased).

I for one would like to see more WW2 armour. Right now the Tigers and Panthers are just too much for the Shermans to take on in battle.

I've always wanted the M-18 Hellcat done in 1:18. With the internal turret detail, it would rock!!

What about those historical miniatures BBI had on display at the fall Toy Fair? I dunno if those were playsets or just cardboard backdrops? I hope we find out more about those.

Aferg, your dream has come true
I hope it has half the detail of the P-51.
Now to figure out how to work it into the mix....I guess my Eastern Warriors could try to shoot it down

you could also give your eastern warriors little 1/18 scale nets with stones tied to them and have them throw them in the tail rotor to bring it down..
WoW is this exciting news. I never dreamed BBI would make something like that. This opens all sorts of possibilites now....

Wow,
In 1/18, that would be something. Andrew, maybe the little poll worked. I could finally finish my Red Dawn Diorama. (On the drawing board since the movie release) I imagine it was bigger then an apache, I wonder by how much ?
Next a CH53, then a V22 that would ice the cake !!

Very close, I think the Apache is actually bigger.
Hind:
Length: 57 ft 5 in (17.51 m) - Mi-24P
Rotor Diameter: 56 ft 9 in (17.30 m) - Mi-24P
Height: 13 ft 1 in (3.97 m) - Mi-24P
Apache:
Length: 58.17 ft (17.73 m)
Wingspan: 17.15 ft (5.227 m)
Height: 15.24 ft (4.64 m)
Very close (note: Apache wingspan is compared to rotor diameter on the Hind, hence the substantial difference).

the Hind is actually noticably larger. The length digger gave for the Hind is the fuselage length whereas the length quoted for the Apache is fuselage plus rotor overhang. The fuselage length of the Apache is about 48 to 49 feet. The Hind is almost as big as the Jolly Green Giant. In fact in the movie 'Red Dawn' i believe they modified a Sikorsky Jolly Green into the Hind they used..they made a Hind 'A' out of it. The cooler version and the one we'll most likely be getting from BBI is the 'D' version with the twin bubble canopies.
The Hind was designed to also carry a squad of troops into battle, which is why it is bigger. The Kamov attack helicopter is sleeker and more along the size of the Apache (hoping for a Kamov too one day

).
Goody, Goody..

Wow, I wasn't familiar with this one but I just looked it up on the fas site; very cool helicopter! I would love to see this happen, especially if it means BBI is expanding out into non-US military vehicles. I especially like the version with the bubble canopies.

Hey Dirk welcome back! Is the Mi-24 a firm thing or just a rumor??

Dirk runs an excellent XD model shop in Germany. He called the BBI Mustang way back early in '04 when nobody here had heard of such a thing. What Dirk says you can take to the bank, IMHO!

What an awesome choice for a chopper. May be the coolest of that era. Can't wait to see how great it will look!

HOOAH!!!
I love helicopters!!!
therefore i must add the Hind Mi-24 to my list.
One for the Ruskies...
"Amanecer Rojo" = RED DAWN....
all we need now is some Cuban troops...hahhaha!
for Soviets i can use the GI Joe soviet figures that i have now.
let's hope BBI bring that helo out plus some more goodies.
take care,
Hooah!

A very good choice on the part of BBI, should this prove to be fact! They had pretty much hit all the main US helicopters in active use (save, perhaps the CH-53) and a Hind would be a logical next step. It will give the Apache and the Jets something to shoot at. Now they need to make a Russian T-72 to take on the Abrams.
21st and BBi Future Releases

21st -
Yet more repaints of P47, 109's, and German Armor, anxiously awaiting the Avenger and F104. BTW, anyone notice how the prototype Starfighter was weathered like BBi's P51? bare metal finish just beckons to be weathered..lol
Bbi -
Nice to see a CH-46/47 and a 53 but heavy lift helos probably aren't "glamorous" enough to do? Hope I'm wrong because those two would outstanding display pieces in 18th. I recall reading somewhere possibly on GP's site, something about a Hind but don't recall as to whether it was confirmed as something in the pipe or simply a pipe dream? I'll have to go with BBi as the choice for seeing new items, they've been rockin' as of later, definitely leaving our old friend 21st (still have faith!) in the dust as of late. F-14 to display between the F-16 and F-18 would ne nice

hey Rob...possible BCA Exclusive?

We can only keep our fingers crossed!

wow, a hind would be great, if it is as detailed and cool as the BH and Apache, a hind would be awesome,
not to mention the fact that for us lowly GI Joe fans there is now a vehicle for the newly released Oktober Gaurd to ride in,
so we have a mig and now possibly a hind, anyone else see Russian troops hiding around the corner possibly?
PS
Klaus is that a converted skystriker?
