I actualy like them both. They do have their shortfalls but they are both worth having. Need to get those wheels made for the FOV though.

I have neither, but based from the photos I would be glad to house both of them.

My two cents is that I am glad FOV has thrown their hat into the 1/18 arena. Any addition to our hobby is a good one.

The 21c Tiger wins hands down in my opinion - as there's just something about all the opening hatches, engine detail, and full interior. The BBI one, however, as that neat look with the Zimmermit, and has a different paintscheme without the numbers 326

it's zimmerit.

I don't have the FOV Tiger yet but any additions to 1:18th WWII armor are welcomed by me! I have 3 21st Tiger I's and like them very much but they are not perfect. I would like to see FOV 1:18th with the same Quality as the 1:32nd line.
When I find this Tiger I I'll buy a few and fix what needs fixin.

i did a simple search. zimmerit returns thousands of hits.

zimmermit returns a couple of dozen hits, all of which are spelling mistakes.

it's zimmerit.

The poll seems fairly evenly split in favor of "like both", which is about what I expected. 8)

Saw the FOV Tiger here in Columbus yesterday but didn't get one. I will though, I just didn't want to get it just then. I guess I'm waiting on the second paint scheme to appear. So I'll bide my time for now. What I really want however is those new figures! :D

well if the German's spell it zimmermit, it would show up on dozens of german sites on a google or yahoo search. But it doesn't. Only a handful of NON GERMAN sites show up for the spelling zimmermit...these are all sites with spelling errors.

It's zimmerit and only zimmerit.

LOL Zimmermit....

But seriously thugh, I like both 21st and FOV's Tigers....not the best 1/18 armors, but since they're the only 1/18 Tigers out there....

Ooops I'm sorry. It's supposed to be Tigerer.

I think Andrews right on this one. All my Panzer books spell it Zimmerit.

I saw the new Tiger but passed on it. It looked good and I would say it was worth the asking price but definitely not as detailed as the 21C Tiger. If I see one again I will probably snag it especially since they won’t be around for a while.

Sorry to say but. side by side the FOV wins hands down.

as much as I love old faithful (21st Century Tiger). it just pales overall.
Its like the first 1/18 P51 compared to the latest BBD.

When you put them side by side you can see that FOV has the right angle of the front armor plate to the shape of the turret.

Overall scale accuracy FOV wins no contest...

If you want to argue further you should have both tanks side by side and a copy of Volume 1 - D.W. to Tiger I: Germany's Tiger tanks - D.W. to Tiger I: Design, production & modifications.

Two weeks, one cut up 21st century Tiger, and two FOV Bravo Tigers, and this panzer is shaping up well beyond my expectations. When finished, will be on par with my 1/16 Extreme Metal Tigers….only much less expensive.

Half way there, new trunions, nasty shovel on bow removed, new jack handle and detail, all hatch handles replaced, armored cable for headlight, and spare track mounts on turret.

Still to finish is: mount the periscopes, antenna, side tow cable, spare antenna tube, screens on the engine deck, add the extra road wheels, paint, weather, and add number 132 of Walter Hahn, 1st company of the 101st SS Panzer division, Normandy 1944

That looks sweet! Where did you get the turret track mounts?
