this was discussed in the off topic forum a few weeks ago. I ended up getting the pack on ebay. I like the Maisto Vespa TAP a lot.....very unique. Used by French paras in the 50's and early 60's. Apparently a very useful little vehicle.

Finally picked this up myself - what an awesome little vehicle! I showed it to the wife who said "is that a cannon on a scooter?!" to which I guess the answer is "Yes!!".

Gives new meaning to the phrase "shoot and scoot"

I found one of those sets a couple months ago and bought it just for the military Vespa. The other bikes, which I had little use for, were given to students of mine. I put a couple of the new Vietnam figures with the Vespa, and gave them black berets so they look a little more like French soldiers from the 50s and 60s.

Question on Vespa

Aferg and/or Tman -

On my 1:18 Vespa, the gun is bent -- it angles a bit where one piece of the barrel meets the other in front of the seat. Do either or yours look this way? I know the gun in its entirety is supposed to be pointing to the left a bit. I mean the barrel itself makes a slight obtuse angle around its midpoint.

Not that I expect 1:18 scale things to be w/o defects, just wondering if mine is particularly defective

Also, to answer the question above, one of the sites aferg linked said it's range was up to 200 miles and that it could carry a 250 kg load and could achieve 60 mph! Though maybe those figures are mutually exclusive (pick one at the exclusion of the other two).

Mine was that way as well. You can pull the front end off and make it a little straighter. It would have been very cool if you could take the whole gun off, but it still a neat piece!
