New FOV items ????

Post by General Blasto » Mon Dec 03, 2007 6:16 am

So many of us WWII folks are waiting to see(and maybe own) the upcoming Tiger I and Sherman tanks. My question then is, "Ok, so we'll see some tanks, will we see WWII soldiers and other vehicles ???". I may be out of the loop some of the time, and maybe missed the announcements from FOV, but is there going to be more WWII items from FOV and is there a site for FOV that they could be viewed ??? THanks, Da General

No news at the FOV website, in fact they don't even mention any of the 1:18 stuff they've already released. I have not seen or heard any news here or elswhere about the Shermans or Tigers. I was hoping these would be out in time for Xmas, but alas it doesn't look very promising at the moment. :(

I emailed them just now to ask about the Tiger and Sherman.

Has anyone else tried this?
If so, any response?

WWII stuff

How are we surprised they are not out if we never knew when they were due out? I think we all know that the back of a box is not a good indication of how close something is to release.

Target modern only?? they must not have fully understood their history - as they have tons of WWII paras as well as smaller scale german vehicles and planes

according to Mike, when BBI pitched selling their 1/18 items, Target only wanted the modern stuff, not the WWII, because they werent interested in selling them.

I emailed them back when the M3, M1, and Modern Figures started showing up. The response I got was that the Tiger and Sherman are coming and more 1/18 stuff is in store. I wasn't given a release date or time frame but the response did say keep your eyes peeled next year......

I can bear the wait. With Xmas just around the corner, I'll have to replenish my piggy bank to get those Tigers and Shermans. :D

Here is what I just got back on the Sherman and Tiger:
I asked:
On the back of the package shows WWII Tiger and Sherman 1/18 scale tanks.
When will these tanks be in Target's stores?
Are they available somewhere else?

Mark,

They won't be available until late Winter/early Spring. Target only.

Kind Regards,

They better get hoppin. Two Targets in my AO were totally wiped out of FoV over the past weekend. And I mean wiped out. Zero FoV in 1/18. Lots of BBI TRU re-hash still on the pegs.

I too am excited to see these show up, but I don't mind a bit of a wait. Somehow the anticipation of seeing something new in a few months is better than getting everything I want all at once. I need a bi-monthly fix and would hate to OD on every new release all at once.

Hopefully FOV does a better job hitting it's timetable on 1/18 than their history with 1/32. I don't think they have ever released their yearly smaller scale stuff on time.

I hope the WW II items have open hatches - I will pass on the sheman if they do not - unless it is a firefly

From what I've seen on the back off the FOV Abrams box it looks like the only hatches that open are on the turret, commander and loader.

I read somewhere that someones friend spotted a 1/18th Tiger at Target in Texas. Can anyone confirm that and that it was a 1/18th Tiger?
