Favorite Plane Model?

Post by Light.Inf.Scout » Mon Nov 26, 2007 11:31 am

Following the tank model thread....what is your favorite 1/18th scale plane currently available?

Mine would be the German ME 109 Spinach camo.

This is a tough call...

I want so badly to say the 21c Avenger, but when it comes down to it, I really like my BBI "Marines Dream" Corsair. The 21c F-86 and Mig-15 also top my list.

The Yellow-nose Stuka has been at the top of my list for awhile. It's paint scheme from top to bottom is truly superb, and fully helped along by its size.

FWIW, I believe that my all-time favorite WWII aircraft, a FW-190A will knock it off it's pedestal - IF ever produced.

Thanks!

The Stuka for me. It looks so menacing.

Wow this is a tough one for sure. I would say that I have 3 favorites and they are:

1-BBI F6F Hellcat Gadget.
2-BBI Marines Dream FG-1D Corsair.
3-21st Century's Old Crow.

Its a close race between those 3.

"Currently available" is a little bit of a misnomer for the spinach camo, winter 109 and most of the 1/18 universe, unless you are lucky on Ebay.

My favorite would have to be the P-38 Haleakula.

Best Planes

Post by Folkwulfe » Mon Nov 26, 2007 5:13 pm

If we are choosing from the list of "General Release" where everybody can get one (at one time or another)....I have to go with both the 21C and Admiral F-86. They both are well made, easily adapted to other versions and markings (anybody for a Pakistani fighter?) and they just beg you to look at'em.
But if we are choosing from "Wish List" planes....the one I don't think I've ever seen mentioned is what I think is the sexiest aircraft manufactured and used in front-line service to date. No matter how you look at it...on the ground or in the air (you better look fast)...I would DIE for a 1/18th scale B-58 Hustler (even the name is sexy!!!). Big, bold, in-your-face FAST....and for a female engendered object, that ain't bad at all!!!

As much F/A-18 and F-16, the two birds that always put a smile on my face are my Haleakala II P-38 and bbi Marine's Dream Corsair.

Geez that is a tough question...
So far I have been most impressed with 21Cs F-86 "The Huff" and BBIs Mustangs. I would say Hellcat also except I still have my catmouth on Pre-Order.

Currently available, both Corsairs, 21st and Bbi. Overall, have to be the spinach 109 and Graf 109.

I still think the Starfighter is the cat's PJs. Fit and finish on my Marineflieger is just too nice.
