Hello gents, I found this at Target here in Wisconsin. I was told they weren’t going on sale until Christmas. But I saw three M1A1’s on the top shelf and they didn’t tell me I couldn’t purchase it.

The detail is below the BBI Abrams. I will be on the hunt for the Sherman and Tiger. Side by side with the BBI, the scale seams dead on.

Bravo figures

Post by General Blasto » Tue Oct 16, 2007 2:52 pm

Today I found a cashe of the FOV Bravo figures at one of the local target stores. 10 of the 12 non para figures - Yeah, more new heads for my WWII figures 8) I will swap out the head with WWII figures and later on when I can sell here on the forum, I will have those on my list ;) Now I got to find the other 2 figures and the para figures for more head transplants :P The General

The M1 Abrams is $30.

The M3 Bradley is $20.

Great prices for these vehicles.

I just took a look at the old BCT catalogs and all the FOV 1/32nd armor they have issued in the past. If we could get even 1/4 of that collection in 1/18th I'b be a happy camper! :D :D :D

I have checked a few Targets in my AO and have seen nothing of these new FOV 1/18 figures or tanks/vehicles.

Same here and its getting pretty darn annoying :? It may be that what's being found are early releases and the rest of us will find the stuff closer to the holiday season - at least that's what I hope. The distribution that I'm seeing based on the locations of members that have found the FOV products seem to indicate this as there is no directional pattern, but rather sightings scattered all over the country. It will be great if these things could get the coverage that the BBI figures and vehicles got at the Target stores; then again, the fact that the BBI stuff is moving slowly at the moment could be holding up the FOV for alot of us...

Sometimes, this is why I like online retailers

Nothing sighted in the Richmond VA area either, despite reports of FOV being at Targets in areas just to the north.

We did however receive the bbi items in a fairly timely manner. These appear to have moved really well, so I will remain optimistic that we will get the FOV Items. I will give them a few more days before I venture north to score the goods.

BBI paratroopers

Post by General Blasto » Fri Oct 19, 2007 10:15 pm

I found the 4 new BBI paratroopers today at the TRU by FL mall. There was 2 complete sets of them plus a couple others, so I bought the 2 sets of four. I found that it's harder to remove the heads on most of them, but am working on it now :) The General

In case you haven't done so already, using the boil-and-pop method (soaking the figure in warm to hot water to soften the plastic) does wonders for removing all but the stiffest of heads

Tman is right. The new paras are not as easy to switch and you should use the water so not too break the peg. I also found that the heads have different shape and length pegs making to tough to find an easy fit with other bbi figs or even amongst this wave. Hope this is not the case with the non-paras.

This last weekend I stopped by the Hagerstown, MD Target and they had the Bravo Team Bradley (camo) and the Abrams (desert) on the shelves. I asked a helpful clerk if she could check for any of the camo Abrams and they found one in the back so I went home with both Abrams. 8)

However, when I got home, I found the crosswind sensor was missing on the camo Abrams. Doh! One of the few pieces they actually put on the tank rather than in the mounted bubbles... I searched the entire box but had no luck. I hope future restocks don't have this problem because it's a pain to miss one little piece. Don't know how I missed it in the box before I got to the checkout lane. Too excited, I guess. :D

I had the option to exchange the tank at Target to get a complete one (if there were any left), but I was curious if I had any other options and to be honest I really disliked the idea of this tank getting dumped just because of one missing sensor.

So to add to the adventure I contacted FOV's CA HQ, and I got a helpful gent who took a look at the boxed models they had there, and sure enough, the sensor was supposed to be glued in place (maybe the factory guy was sleeping on my assembly). So the only way to get a replacement was to order a new part from their Hong Kong office, which he warned me could take 3 weeks but was do-able.

The entire time I felt bad because he was joking about the fires and smoke leaving them a bit loopy. But in seriousness they were closer to their office now and all the schools in the area were closed due to bad air quality, and soot was covering everything and there's this constant orange haze in the sky. He said Orange County was the worst. A shame, I remember it being very pretty.

So here's me, asking for a measly little plastic replacement for my tank, while this poor guy is coughing every once in awhile and drinking water to clear his throat. I felt a bit of a louse. :?

But, he did appreciate my comments about a solidly-crafted yet very affordable line of 1:18 vehicles and figures, and said this scale is definitely here to stay for some time. He also confirmed that they are taking over the military 1:18 section in Target, who will not be carrying BBI items for very long (so grab those Apaches and Blackhawks while you can), and he did mention that the 1:18 line is not a simple upscale from their smaller cousins.

I sent him the link to the forum's website so he could drop in if he wanted to see the buzz. It was interesting that the first thing he asked was whether there was alot of "trash talk" in this forum. I was surprised at the comment, then had to remind myself that I guess you might find that in some other sites, but my observations have been that everyone here and at the previous GroundPounder's site was always respectful and appreciative of the growing efforts by various companies to produce awesome military collectibles (an abundance we didn't enjoy even 5 years ago), and the community shares knowledgable and technical insights to alot of the products seen or bought.

So, anyway, I'll be checking the Target again to see if I can get a second camo Abrams, but I will wait patiently to get my replacement part for the first one. Or maybe I'll just cannibalize one of the BBI parts.

Hmm, I just realized I posted in the "TRU/Target Finds" thread, rather than the "FOV Finds". Please let me know if I need to remove the comments or transfer them over. Thanks.

Hellcats have shown up at the Tulsa Woodland hills TRU.. Looked to be about 4 of them, and the one I looked at didn't have any visible flaws..
