Yeah will be interesting. I personally believe with something like this it's best to sell the 2nd one, that way the shoulda, woulda, coulda types may decide they have to have one after all. Believe I wouldn't have swiped the pics though...

For some sellers on EBAY, using their pictures without authorization is sort of like copyright infringment. I've noticed that on some EBAY auctions, the seller superimposes their name across the picture to prevent unauthorized use. I guess the proper thing to do is to get permission before using the pictures.

I try not to "swipe" photos, but I only had a limited amout of time to set up the auction and I had to do it from work on my lunch hour...

Even a huge name stamp does not put some people off like this guy

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-16-R-C-Panzer-l ... dZViewItem

I'm in the middle of trying to get it removed (seller refuses to do so).

I really dont see the big deal with it. There all general product shots and not even that good. Mark could have taken better pictures if he had the time and the other one is straight from 21C.
If its stamped thats a whole other thing.

I had my swing at the auction but its going to go for way more than what i bid.

Wow another one goes on the block! And its already going for over $100 and it has 6 days to go. I bet this one fetches more due to the paypal thing.

Yea, that paypal really helps on big ticket items. I saw that the last guy added it but on the last day. I suspect he realized it wasn’t fetching the most it could. I'm always tempted to pay more when I can CHARGE IT!!!!

A phantom bidder - someone not looking to buy but just up the price.

I'm glad people are getting good money for their birds; you waited for your reward. I just hope nobody who was saying "where is the TT, I have a place reserved in the corner of my living room..." are among the sellers..

Just to set the record straight. There are no "shill" bidders on my auction. I have not asked anyone to bid my plane up. Anyone can bid on this plane and I would like to see it go to someone who will really appreciate it.

As for the pictures, is it a REALLY big deal?? It's a picture of a plane in a box and the certificate. The mock-up nose art pic comes from 21st Century's website.

digger, as I have said so many times I will never sell mine. So you can count me out of those would be sellers.

Razor: Good luck!! I didn't get the feeling of shear panic when I saw your listing!! Sorry if I came off as a bit paranoid...but that's just me, Perry Noid!! Also, I appologise for any fire storm over the pics. When I did that comment, you were just an anonymous seller!!

I bid on that plane. Am I the phantom you’re speaking of? If so I’ll have you know I am fully capable of purchasing that aircraft if I want to and that’s why I bid, because I want it. I may not want to pay $400 for it but I might get lucky. Accusations like that are pure trash talks. I have purchased many things from Razor in the past and will continue to do so. It looks like someone complained about it and its now been removed. It’s really a sad place to be when people have nothing better to do with their time than get upset over toys.

Another TT auction ended early, this time by Ebay. What gives?

So far, we've seen two auctions, each with their share of twists and turns.

This may only be the beginning.

I hope I was not the one who offended you - someone asked what a "shill bidder" was, and I answered. I did not say there was one, should have been, or that you were. Frankly I can't keep up with the thread, but was just answering an honest question. Please don't take it as trash talk or an accusation.

Well, I wasn’t offended by yours or anyone’s post for that matter. I just assumed since I bid on it, and mentioned that I had bid, that VMF was referring to me. Maybe I shouldn’t have made that assumption but regardless, Razor has had an exemplary track record on this board and has helped many fellow members out with getting things they may not have gotten if he hadn’t stepped in to help. I just think that making accusations like that are nothing more than defamation of character and should not be put to paper if there is no real proof that it happened. Now if it goes back up again I will feel like I can’t bid on it. Now everyone looses out because of one quick comment. It’s just too bad.

I have bought and traded with Razor, he is reliable and is quick with his shipping as well. I'd vouch for him.

Here is what is happening with my auction:
I got this notice from Ebay today when I logged on to take a look at my auction:
We would like to let you know that we removed your listing(s):
290089319180 1/18 Ultimate Soldier P-51D Mustang Tender Terror RARE!

for violating our Image or Description Theft Policy.

I had a nice chat with one of Ebay's customer service reps on this. He told me that NO picture can be used that was not taken by the seller. Strange, I have used company distributed pictures before on my other auctions and nobody has said anything to me about it. But now all of a sudden, my listing is pulled and I am public enemy number 1. Not sure why I was singled out like this?

I asked him if I might use the URL link to the pic on 21st's website and he said that was fine.

TKO- I would love to know what 21st Century thinks about an image of a product that they produced being used on Ebay?

Anyway- I am going to relist this plane tonight with brand new pictures taken with my own camera.

Yep it a sad thing, and you're doing it right now... No accusation made toyktdlgh, just a broad statement, I personally could care less. Did I mention you're name, did I use the term "phantom", no. Point being alot of sellers use shillers to up the prices on rare items, only thing I meant, not accusing anyone!! I too am curious to see what razor's plane brings if nothing else to prove/disprove the paypal theory. We now know the plane is worth $400 as that's what someone paid but that doesn't necassarily mean that's all it's worth since the auction was doomed to abit of bad luck with paypal. Now then, bottom line pics belong to sellers, period. I've yet to talk to my son today so I don't know if he turned razor in or not but I say probably if his listing got cancelled. What does that mean, should've waited for permission to use the pics prior to listing, he did pm me wanting to know if I would ask my boy and I commend him on that, but they got used prior to an answer. My son got pretty taken advantage of by this guy in Poland, and also Paypal to the amount of well over $100 so I doubt he's in the best of moods anyway, especially since he had to close his listing then relist, hell that always scares bidders away cause they think somethings fishy. Now, to try to hang my boy up over the artwork pic? That's childish, vindictive childishness. That there says alot about people...

I'm sure 21st does know razor considering there are literally hundreds of their photo's just on ebay alone... I've seen the same artwork for terror other places so I'm not sure if they borrowed it from 21st or if 21st borrowed if from them, don't know. Everybody needs to take a freakin' chill pill and remember as one gent said above, it's just toys... And razor remember, not only did you use my son's pics of the actual plane but you also used the 21st pic as well so the question asked of TKO applies to you too..

I didn’t realize that I was upset. I was simply defending my right to bid on an auction. I assumed since you posted your “shill bidder” comment right under my post that you were referring to me. Was I incorrect?

I’m also trying to understand where I did this at: “Now, to try to hang my boy up over the artwork pic? That's childish, vindictive childishness. That there says a lot about people...”
I wasn’t aware I said anything about the pictures. I only said someone complained and it was removed. I made no mention of your son.

I do have one more thing to add before I quit reading this thread; do you realize that the shrill bidder comment amounts to you calling someone a cheat? I mean that’s a good reason to be upset don’t you think? I’ve been on this board since it was Gropundpounders and have been collecting 1/18 planes since 99. I think its safe to assume I would be interested in this airplane.

Anyway, I think this whole thing has gotten a bit out of hand. I meant no harm with my comments. I was simply reacting to other comments made and that’s it.

I think more attention needs to be paid before commenting further. toyktdlgh it's quite obvious my comment about the 21st pic wasn't aimed at you, if you will look at the posts more closely you will see razor made a comment for TKO. No one called you a cheat, if your feelings got hurt it wasn't intended. Didn't accuse anyone, wasn't aimed at anyone, period. If don't believe it, I can't help that. Point being, if one were to try and get my son into some kind of trouble with 21st for using the artwork pic, when they themselves used it...thats vindictive childishness... Don't take me out of context, I think I'm being pretty clear here.

I personally have nothing else to say unless req'd to defend anything about my son. BOTTOM LINE- IF YOU'RE GOING TO ASK PERMISSION TO DO SOMETHING THEN AT LEAST HAVE THE COMMON COURTESY TO WAIT FOR AN ANSWER. You know what "assuming" does... My boy did nothing wrong and I'll defend that quite viciously. I made no accusatory statements to any individuals on this forum, just stated a simple fact, it does go on. It's like we have a guilty conscience complex here or something about the whole shill comment... Bid on it, don't feel bad about it, no one is accusing anyone. Well I guess I'm being accused basically of calling someone a cheat. Amazing, survived the ragheads from a couple different nations, and now, having this conversation, on a computer, at home, about a damn toy, seems abit surreal. Pointless and ignorant to have gotten this far. OUT
