the 4 avengers that showed up at the Johnsons Ferry walmart about a week ago were all gone by lunchtime today. I find it hard to believe they werent victims of the insidious ebay phenomena. Already having mine, I wept not.

What will fill the shelf space? Probably more avengers, but Migs would be nice..

Good for you, aferguson! Sounds like a decent deal. I've still seen none in this area (sometimes I get to Buffalo so I've had you in mind).

Wal mart Avenger

Post by sarge » Fri Sep 08, 2006 2:56 pm

FYI You guys ain't going to like em. They're seconds and factory rejects. THIS IS WHY WM HAS THEM!!! The one I bought went right back to WM. All the caps covering the screw holes were missing (22+) no pilot or pitot tubes, screwed up paint job and the torpedo is a joke. Supposed to be a MKXIII only this one don't have any propellers and it looks like a little Chinese kid put it together. I wrote to 21C and as usual no response. They don't like criticisim but they LOVE your money. Don't know if I'll buy one when they finally come out or not

I finally spotted an Avenger in my home town :) There was one on the top shelf, in a badly beaten up box and missing the turret cover, but it was an Avenger! After that 5-6 week wait, I'm glad I got one from elsewhere that was in great shape.

BTW Any more news on the screw plugs for the Atlantic Avenger that 21c was reported to eventually sell?

I was told that they will be free, and as soon as they come in they will ship them out, thats is what I was told when I called them.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!

Sarge,
Go back to the beginning of this thread, you will see plenty of talk about the lack of plugs with the Avengers.

free screw hole atches

Post by sarge » Sat Sep 09, 2006 12:05 pm

If 21C promised you free replacement screw hole patches when they come in expect to wait for quite awhile. I waited 8 mo. for the nose cone tube for the 104 then they sent me the wrong one which was also so far out of shape it was unusable. Wound up making my own.

Yeah but that don't mean they're not supposed to have them. The screw holes distracts from the plane, unless you want to display it hiding them. I'm with alot of these guys for the price WM is getting for these I'll wait until the good ones come out. I'm not in that much of a rush to get the plane.

I totally agree with you Sarge, these Avengers should have the plugs already installed. I just wonder why they don't?

From what I've been able to find out. These planes the Atlantic and the lost sqdn version were RUSHED into production to meet a deadline. Both Bad Cat and Military toys had them listed as pre orders for late May for the Atlantic and June for the lost sqdn. Then Bingo they got pulled with no explanation. BUT what was 21C going to do with these planes now? Dump em on WM and let the masses buy these rejects. Military toys told me of the "production flaws" after I asked them and they were right on the money. Have a good one and remember "All good things come to those who have patience. Sarge

BIG DUKE 6,

its maybe a 7-8 minute drive heading north on 45, from rankin/ road.

ritchey road... pretty close. ( i think ) shouldnt be more than a few short minutes.

not that i want to change the topic to much, but the 104 starfighter is being sold for 37 or 39 dollars! ive only seen the american version, and not the "marineflieger" at wallyworld yet.

POKEYJTC..thanks :)

ive started collegtin a bout 6 months now and it finally hit me that there are forums for everything...so i knew there had to be one about my new found "critters".
