Well I guess that is what my friends here are saying. If I could get a 1/6th scale A-10 I'd get one. Its the size and the power it projects that makes it so cool Here I think packaging and display would help sell it more then anything. Plus maybe putting it under a special catagory like the "Big Boys" line was supposed to be.

Oh by the way, I'm one of those who have a dedicated place for my collection. The overflow goes to an empty shed where they wait until I have room for them inside, or I buy a new place.

I am the same way I will build a shop just for my collection.

"heck, lets put them as impulse items at the front of the cash registers because lots of people impulse buy at the 150.00 price point.
I know that Wal-Mart is the major retailer for 21st and maybe there is some sort of agreement between them, but it seems like they are relying too much on Wal-Mart. I think this is where 21st might be falling short. Some things in this hobby may not be able to be sold at good old Wally World. I maybe wrong, but it looks like bbi had success with the F-16 and F-18 primarily at online retailers. Very few if any F-18s showed up at TRU and no F-16s did. I still find it hard to believe that the A-10 would cost THAT much more than the F-16 or F-18 with a minimal ordinance package. Just my thoughts.....

I too have dedicated space in my collection for A-10s and nothing else goes there

But like I said before, just have to keep waiting and wishing.....

Go Ugly Early in 1/18 scale!

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

Also I would buy two of them.

I bet if they where sold at the Wal-Mart’s around the locations around these A-10 bases they would sell every one. We also need online retailers to sell them also.

no no no, WM is really a good thing for the market! I personally like to have more than one new item to pick from in one year!!!!

I could see it now... 2007 is going to be a tank year... introducing the tiger in 2 schemes. year over

2008 is going to be a plane year introducing the Corsair. year over!

WM truly isn't EVERYTHING! that is true but I gotta say that as much as it seems crazy it really makes a difference. Because of WM we might actually see an A-10 someday. I don'e see ANYONE else doing it! read the Admiral toys interview! Jason spells it all out for us! It takes BIG money and big guts to build a plane like that.

Selling fewer products ain't going to get us any close to a Hog! Lets stick with the WM plan and cross our fingers! my advise!

tko,

Please don't take me wrong, I don't think 21st should abandoned WM. If they do the A-10 more power to them and I'll definitely be in line to buy as many as I can get my hands on. I just think that there are some projects in this hobby that WM can't be counted on to carry no matter what. Even if they would go over well with collectors. Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess time will tell.

I did read the interview with Jason....heck I did it.... :D

The A-7 Corsair II. The result......the A-10 beat it in the ground. Better maneuvarbility, better weapons load and handling, and better time on station to name a few.......

I really have a hard time envisioning a WM buyer sitting at his or her desk at HQ seeing anything over $150 as a viable "toy" department product. Bicycles, motorized ride-ons and electronics, maybe, but not a 1:18 airplane no matter how pretty.

your good. the A-7D was beat worse then the YA-9 by the A-10 :D

maybe a new idea is a $100.oo bare A-10 at WM. with an extra $50.00 weapons pack sold seperately.
the US weapons could be made to fit most of our modern planes
i saw at WM last year Nascar race cars, then crews and tools sold seperately.
just like tanks and crews are sold seperately now.

I saw an article for a 1/14 scale A-10 ARF. The body is Fiberglass and the wings sheeted wood. It might make a good subject for convertion into a nice model. If you want one with a 51" wingspan.

Didn't think you were but just wanted to check. :D There is definitely a market out there for the A-10 in 1/18. Although it may or may not be in a brick and mortar setting, it is there. Someone just has to decide to catch it. Guess we just have to sit back and see who takes that step and "Goes Ugly Early in 1/18". I personally think that any one of the three current companys making 1/18 scale have the ability to do the A-10 and do it extremely well. One day I hope we get to see it in all its 1/18 glory, and then as Jericoe said, "I'll have my 1/18 A-10 Warthog(s)!"

Ok how about a Star Wars AT-AT Imperial Walker Studio Scaled Replica at Walmart.com? Get this it only cost $1,388.00

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=4329400

or this, Star Wars Rebel Snowspeeder Studio Scaled Replica, Cost only $588.00

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=3321815

If Wal-Mart can sell Studio Scaled Replica star wars collectibles at Wal-Mart.com then why can’t they sell 1:18 scale 125. + aircraft. They also sell other collectibles on their website that cost over a hundred dollars.

PLEASE MAKE THIS!

it is LOGICAL step. maybe if Desert Storm didnt happen, and opertion Iraqi Freedom..was non existant. i could understand. but the A-10 is deffinitely a symbol of a modern combat aircraft that pulls its weight. and has been seen constantly on T.V. in the past 16 years
