I told him earlier the week one of the floor managers gave me a broken PZIV RC for $7.00 when it was orig 49
He kida stared and then asked is this for your kid?
I said yes (and it is hanging in his room)
so i got it for $19.99 - the pilot was under the packaging btw
I am always getting deals at WM on boxes that have been damaged 20-40 percent off.
Heck I bought a tiffany replica lamp for 10 dollars for my GY birthday last month it normally cost around 80.

The Boynton Beach, FL Wal-Mart just got a restock.
I saw 8 Avengers (with plugs & pitot tubes installed).
I saw the new 1:32 duel pack (P-51 & Me 262)
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

Re: new stuff on L.I. ....not yet in Suffolk County, anyway...Centereach WM has restocked Atlantic Avengers, 10 of 'em way above the magazine section (!), too high up to check the price or even see if the screw holes are plugged, plus more Ridgerunners & the OLD 1/2 tracks restocked (again!), lots of BOB, & old hummers with a layer of dust...Middle Island WM actually has a RC Abrams, plus restocked Seeman 109s & German 104s...still haven't seen Smoke or Flying 'Takers, much less jets...what can you say but What the Hey...

One Walmart here has gotten in 8 (fixed) Avengers, and a ton of the 32x duel sets, but not the new one yet.. I also found the new 1/48 Mustang and Bf-109K4 at another Walmart and almost didn't get them because they were on the shelf, but hadn't been entered into the system.. I got them after a little coercing..
No new scheme Migs or Sabers yet..
I ALMOST got the Avenger, but that sucker is so dang BIG!!! I just don't know where I'd put it..

Once you find the Avenger you want, you'll find room for it.
Besides, you can always hang it from the ceiling.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

I know this is the wrong thread, but I had the same thing happen with the 1:48 P-51c and Bf-109K that I wanted to get at my local Wal Mart!! I tried purchasing them one day and the cashier wouldn't sell them to me as they weren't in the system - which beggs the question as to why they were on the shelf in the first place

I went back today and was able to get them - they weren't in the system, but someone knew the price and it all worked out fine. Great little planes

Has anyone seen the P-40 in the 1-48 yet? That Aleutian Tiger would look mighty fine with the rest of my aerial armada on the classroom ceiling.

Well, a scouting run to Kalamazoo for the Pak-40 and new half-tracks came up a bust at both the West Main and the Plainwell Walmarts. I found an M48 (die-cast chassis) in Plainwell, but figured I'd be nice and leave it for someone else--one is enough, and no sense in getting too greedy on e-bay.
Now for a find that did surprise me: the West Main store had something I had never seen before and never heard mention of... a Wirbelwind Flakpanzer and a Panzer IV with a short barreled gun--in 1/48 scale. I have seen them countless times in 1/32 (the Niles Walmart still has about 10 of each in Motorworks packaging), but never even heard of them in 1/48....

1/48 scale armor? How was it packaged? What was it priced at?

Packaging was the same as the old 1/48 Schwimmwagen, Command Car, WC51, etc. etc., pricing was $5 and some change... At least I am pretty confident it was 1/48--I don't recall if it was marked, but it seemed much too large for 1/72--the Wirbelwind was a bit larger than WC51 they did in 1/48, which sounds about right.

Alright, i'm going to Niagra Falls NY on Tuesday. I'm visiting my Dad that day and he lives about half way between me and there, so i'm going to gamble and see what i can find. I hope at least to get the new grey, short barreled panzer and maybe some figures that i've been reluctant to order online.
My real hope though, is that i hit the jackpot and find the pak and halftracks. Wish me luck.

i never met an airplane i didn't like...

aferg--I wish you luck! Considering the lack of finds locally here, I feel for ya! My parents are headed for Branson, MO this week, so I sent them on their way with an illustrated shopping list and a visa card

Yes, good luck aferguson! I've not seen much of anything new out this way (about 1.5 hours east of Niagara Falls), but with WM's unpredictable distribution system you may hit the jackpot (or not!).
