Thanx for pic, warhawker...interesting that it does not appear to be new markings...now we wonder, can the PioneerPanzerWagen be far down the road...?

You should buy the new riflemen off TRU.com instead of off ebay. So much cheaper and you can get as many as you want (until someone sees this and buys them all to put on ebay).

Scouting Report

Post by dandaman » Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:39 pm

Hey Warhawker, which TRUs in the DFW metroplex have you scoped out?

The mid-cities TRU has tons of PAK 40s and VN figures.

The Arlington TRU has lots of kneeling DAK machine gunners.

Have you been to the north Dallas TRU? What do they have? I have not seen the Stuka Zu Fuss yet!

Finally found a Tuskeegee P-51 at TRU.
It was hidden up under the flap that is across the top shelf.
Lots of good XD and BBI items can be found there... :D

Between 4 TRUs on the north side of town, I've only seen (and bought) one Tuskeegee- at the alph. location. I haven't seen another batch with one since then, but BCA has 'em for a WEE bit more. I still want a smoke 104 to go with the other 4, but I've got to throw most of that money in the gas tank and just be content to see a smoke intermittently

Oh I forgot the best part of getting the Tuskeegee P-51. TRU had a 10.00 off 50.00 coupon on their sales ad. So, I picked up a Thomas the Tank Engine train for my son and paid 48 and some change total for my plane and the train (P-51 was 32.00 and train was 13.00 plus tax). Not too shabby for a trip looking for more of the elusive knelling German figures! :D

Dandaman and Warhawker, I can keep an eye on the east side of DFW-Plano, Mesquite, and Frisco. I'll be hitting all 3 later in the week to see what they have. I was in Plano last weekend and they didn't have anything new. How much was the Stuka zu fuss at the TRU in Lewisville?

$29.99. I am going to the TRU at 75 and Wallnut Hill at lunch today and will report my findings.

Frisco has a bunch of Vietnam figures(not marked Platoon) and at least 10 of the newer MP-40 Dak soldier. Also the S2 Pak and S2 Hanomag Pak. Frisco Wal-mart has 2 pegs of Platoon soldiers.

Yeah, my local TRU has a bunch of the kneeling MG DAK guy too. They don't seem to be moving, like the VN guys.

Went out looking for Indy stuff at TRU today, but came up empty handed. At least I found and bought a AVG P-40 to make the trip worthwhile.

Today is my birthday and took off work. The wife and I usually coordinate our days off so both of us are off at the same time and usually with our kids doing something or going somewhere.
WELL, today it's just me off! I was able to wander some places I haven't had the time to check befoere.
So, I found this TRU on the west side of Cincinnati in a really way out of the way place. I go in there not expecting to find squat. But low and behold I find 5 of thenew 21stC bent neck german figures that Grunt reported on earlier.
I also found 4 of the LOST Hatch playsets for 6 bucks each! (haven't seen these since before Christmas!)
Nice haul today on something unexpected!!!

Still looking for Indy stuff!
