Plane Nuts, I think the pics Badcat had up were of a smaller scale, diecast model. The panel lines looked pretty big to me from those photos, but the pics just posted look much better. These must be shots of the preproduction tooling master.

Rob--I'm not Moth (it cracks me up when someone does this!!), but I think you are right about the Bad Cat photo being of a paint master. When Admiral's showed up not painted, I figured Bad Cat's must have been an earlier proto. That and stuff not lining up real well!!

But the good news is that this plane is much farther along, and the Christmas estimate looks quite feasible!

In 1:18 scale it will measure 42" long. That is almost 4 feet.

The "C" model Phantom didn't have the internal gun. I wonder if Admiral will or can modify if for an "E" or later configuration for later models?

Well I'm not much for jets but I will have to think long and hard about this. Fantastic job, and totally unexpected. Of course if there's a USAF Thunderbirds version, I'll send my check today. :D

Wow, an F-4. That is great news. The Thunderbirds flew F-4Es, and the Blue Angels flew F-4Js. I am really looking for some nice NAVY paint jobs on this new model. :D

As a little kid, I remember my brother building a set of F-4 Phantoms in Thunderbird Paint scheme. I remember thinking how cool they looked. Badcat was able to get the 1:18 Hornet in blue angels scheme so hopefully they can get the F-4 in the Thunderbird scheme! What an impressive bird it would be! :-)

Well Halelujah, finally a substantial plane in 1:18. This is an incredible announcement and a welcome one. I wanted an A-10 also, but this is a great plane too and if it sells well then I think more people will give the A-10 a look. Way to go Admiral!

G'day Jason

This is indeed a very special addition to the 1/18th world.

I do have one and a bit questions however, is there a chance other Air Force versions like the A4E and the still in service with many nations A4G will be made as well, the differences are minimal and mainly related the under chin moulding, which to me looks to be a separate part on pictures of your sample anyway?

Also even though my own preference is for Air Force F4’s is the Navy version with no rear flight controls also on the books for this baby?

I know how busy you are so I will understand if you do not have time to respond.

I'm hoping that some later versions of the F-4 like the E and later models will be offered as well in the future but I'm not going to turn down this bad boy at all.

The E had the longer gun nose and wing slats. I'm not sure of the details of other models after that.

Well, like some others, I was hoping for a B-25 but the F-4 is a very nice choice. I’m not sure if it will be in my collection but it certainly is a great choice for all those jet lovers out there. Good show Admiral! Now make me my B-25 for next year! :D

Here's why I'm really glad to see that someone is finally producing an F-4:

The very first model kit I ever built was a 1:72 scale F-4 (I still have it too!)

My dad also flew one with the California Air National Guard
