SO is the hint "we are working on other scales but 1:18 is not ignored but slow"
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

After re-reading the above posts - and the advertisement on the Militarytoyshop website - it does seem that the SBD will be an exclusive to that retailer, at least for a while  Went ahead and preordered one! Hopefully they will arrive in a timely manner (though AT doesn't seem to have a problem with that) and that mine will have no serious paint blemishes plus all the screw caps

Bigger than a Dauntless? I'm hoping for either a B-25, or, my personal pic, a 1:32 B-17 which, if a big seller, could "crack the nut" and lead to more large scale bombers.

I'm hyped on this plane. I gotta get my preorder in. I bet it's something like a first paint scheme/0ne year exclusive or something.

Well in my book Admiral has taken the game to a whole new level with the release of the Dauntless. This is a plane we all have wanted and now we are getting one. I will call Military Toy Shop tomorrow and place one on pre-order for sure.

This is great. I have an Avenger, Corsair, and now I will soon have a Dauntless along with a Hellcat. Again this is a dream come true. 2007 is shapeing up to be a great year.

BBI better take notice because they are being lost in the shuffle so to speak. But who knows what their plans are being they are so tight lipped about everything. We know that they have the F6F coming out but as far as that goes we rarely hear anything from them while Admiral and 21st keep knocking out great planes.

That being said I wanna thank Admiral for listening to us collectors and giving us a Dauntless. Way to go!

I think its a smart move to bring out a SBD since BBI is doing a Hellkitty.
When I get a new awesome plane, I always itch for Escort or something to escort.
Or an adversary, so hopefully we will get some Meatballs.

Bigger than a SBD, well it wont be the Me163.

Fingers crossed, its a Skip Bombing, Pappy Gunn, Mitchell!

Awesome. :D Great move, much needed AC with a lot of "playability" - BCA did go to a Dauntless on their homepage a while ago, let's just hope bbi didn't have one in the works as well.

Now to check out this hint...

Version as in -1, -2. I expect there'd be detail differences in cowling, armament, what have you.

By "dash" version, I would suspect they mean variations, like 21st S1, S2, etc. Since I have only one F-86, I have never compared model numbers within one aircraft type to see how they distinguish between versions/paint schemes.

This is friggin' A awesome. I am away for a weekend hunting and what an announcement comes out. I am extatic. Plus, there is the prospect of a Wildcat and a Me 163 Komet. This is just too cool.

The Dauntless has always been one of my must haves so I've placed an order for one. I wish I knew which other versions were coming out as well. This may be one of those rare multiple buys for me.

Hello Everyone!

Well 5 years ago walking into Toys R Us and laying eyes on my first 1:18 Aircraft the P-51D Louie VI, I would have never thought I would be releasing my own exclusive aircraft!

We have intended to do an exclusive ever since we started MTS.com but the right opportunity didn’t come along until we met the wonderful team at Admiral Toys. We cannot say enough about Jason, Jim, LaDonna and the rest of the team at Admiral. They have gone out of their way to take care of us retailers and our customers.

We do have the Exclusive First Release paint scheme of the Dauntless. We chose to paint the aircraft representing BuNo 2106 in her Midway scheme. This aircraft is the only surviving SBD Dauntless (Above Water) to fight in the Battle Of Midway. I will post its whole history later today on our website.

Regarding the Wildcat and ME-163, these are just aircraft that we would love to see in 1:18 as is the F-100, Yak-3 and Typhoon. With your support we can help make these aircraft a reality!

We hope you will enjoy adding your own Limited First release SBD Dauntless to your collection!

Sincerely,

Isaiah Jones

The 163 is number one on my wish list right now as well. One in tomato red and one in full combat colors.
