I hope its an artillery piece, but could it be a new modern piece of armour, the most modern piece theyve done has been the 113 and that apc has been around for almost 50 years.
Perhaps I'm just having a minor stroke, but isn't the Bradley considered an APC?
The Bradley is the most modern piece of 21c armor, along with the Hummers (if you count those as armor). The M113 is also the later A3 variant, which is still in use today. Also, the Bradley is an APC, as it is armored and does carry personnel other than the crew

I was able to find out early what has been announced:

http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/area21/a ... newsID=196

I saw the sneak preview was newsID=195 so I made the assumption, the announcement would be newsID=196. I was right! PAK 40 ready to roll out!

That is sneaky. I figured it was on the site already, but they just left off the link to the page. MK you are now the private eye for the group .

Cool and not all at the same time. If it was the 88, they would have had to make the Famo or something else to tow it, but I guess it is good. Maybe we will see the 88 one day. I want to know the release time frame for these new items? TKO any idea?

Great intel on the PAK-40 there MK, nice work. Anybody care to guess what these might sell for at WM, assuming that they will be on the shelves there eventually?? We are gonna need some 1/18th crewmen too, ie. a loader and a gunner/spotter for these babies, wonder if there is anything planned in this regard?

PaK-40 wow.

Post by nfafan » Sat Jul 08, 2006 10:23 pm

Whew, now that the PaK40 has arrived I can start eating again...

With their Shermie, they had half an M7 available, half an M10 available, half an M4A3/76 available, half an M36 available. Plus the re-paints.

Same for their Panther-base spawing a JPanther.

Or maybe something all new; PzIIIG/H/J, T34, T55, fully-crewed 88.

But a PaK40.

Oh well, guess we should be grateful for what we get. And I am happy for you artillery fans, it's been overdue.

The AREA-21 police is now converging on MK's home as we speak!

It really isn't any deal. It just means that I will not que up any more articles in advance in the future!

Personally I think a ground artillery piece is very cool to see. And as others have pointed out the hanomag is a great tow vehicle for the PAK 40.

I re-confirmed with 21st today that it is not going to come in Pink by the way! So the paint master shown is much closer to what we can expect. As for ETA... All the items that have been highlighted this past month are 2006 items. Exact dates are either still secret or a little fuzzy.

The facts that I do know is that all of the items shown this past month are past prototype phase, past tooling phase, and some are even at the point of production paint sample phase. We will see these new pieces soon I suspect.

As for a price point on the PAK? I should think they will be set somewhere in the 20 - 25 dollar range? Not certain but I will try to find out.

I will be excited to pick up at least 2 or 3 of these cannons! Also opens the door to an 88 if the PAK sells well.

I'm happy to hear this news. An 88 would be great too.
How can anyone buy just one?

yeah this is real sweet news. A mainstay WWII anti tank gun. Excellent. Plus it opens the door for other artillery, like the 88. It will look gorgeous limbered behind a 251 too. Super duper! :D

Even though I am disappointed that it’s not something that I normal collect, I am happy for all those that have asked for the Pak-40 and now they get one to add to their collection.

Cheers for 21

*Uses search function to find out how many people pined for a Pak 40, and how often...*

Well, it's no Jagdpanther, King Tiger, Firefly, 88mm, and countless other armor/artillery pieces that people actually wished for, but I guess it's better than another repaint...

Ahhhh maybe we`re now just getting into 21sts NEW releases so repaints have been pushed through.

A Pak 40 is a nice piece to have plus a halftrack can pull it. If we`d have gotten a 88 well how long would we have had to wait for a Bigger halftrack/truck to tow that??

As for armour I still hope we`re going to be seeing that very soon as well as figures (BRITISH I hope) :D

This totally sucks , I was really expecting a new tank :( . I guess the market isnt big enough for new 1:18 ww2 vehicles so we should be happy that we got something at least even if it is rehashes and small addon pieces

Well, I am happy with it even if it's not a King Tiger (marketing wizards will keep the best pieces for the end of the show).
So now we can have a Pak40 towed by a 251 or customize a 251 into a 251/22 :D :D :D

Thanks 21st Century.

the pak 40 has a million uses. A variety of german vehicles carried them as armament and it was the main german anti tank gun used in every theatre the germans fought in from 1940 onwards (although i'm not sure i've ever seen them being used in North Africa, oddly enough). They were also commonly placed in pillboxes and other strongpoints.

Lots of diorama possibilites and you can go out in your back yard and dig some into the ground, in prepared defensive positions, as was commonly done.

At a little over a foot long, it's a sweet size too...
