Two of the "big guys" are discussing a 1/6 White Half-track. Armor Hobbies (who made a terrific 1/6 German Half-track last year) and FOA.

Between the two, one will have one for sale. To reduce cost, it will probably be a "generic" half-track, with you finishing it to be the model you want. Cost will be about $200 in sturdy plastic. Little guys are all set to produce things like a quad .50 cal to make the HT a M-16. Accessories will be made to make a personnel carrier track, a mortar carrier or a gun carrier (57mm, 75, 105mm). Possibilities are endless.

The important thing is scale, not to underscale the vehicle like the Hasbro Half-track and the quality of the item.

1/6 looks good this year. Field is wide open for 21C to jump right in :P I'm afraid the 1/6 field is open because guys produce these items without endless delays. If one bombs, fix it and move on, not like the 21C Avenger who we never get anything but delays and more delays

bbi SAVES 21C new Dodge!!

Post by holensock » Sun Jan 22, 2006 9:33 am

Well, I think bbi should thank 21C for this new Dodge truck! 21C figures won't fit unless you take their legs off. BUT, the new bbi Army figures WILL fit! Legs and all! I took a screw driver and carefully 'wiggled' the bbi figure into the seat while bending his legs with the screw driver and FINALLY he's able to SIT in the seat! bbi, YOU'VE SAVED ME from taking this vehicle back! Now I want another one! :D

Scored my new Dodge today!. Haven't taken it out yet, but holensock's post about the BBi figures makes me happy since those were the figures I was planning on displaying it with anyways. The Walmart rep was actually helpful today. He told me that they had 10 cases of figures on order and should be set to arrive any day now. Things are finally looking up. Now if I could just find more of the BBi WWII infantry figures.

No trucks yet. But good news on the bbi figures, we need TrU to re-stock those, too!

So far I have seen five dodge trucks and three of them in the box have broken gun mounts - with what looks like an attempt to glue em - before sealing the box up. Is anyone else seeing this?

Walmart tends to give good discounts to broken products....hmmm

At the store where I got my Dodge truck, the truck I got was OK, the other one had a loose windshield and the gunmount was slightly bent.

All the trucks that I've spotted have un-broken gun mounts.

Guys:

Please remember that only one in every five trucks had any kind of AA protection. So a broken gun mount is fine, just cut the mount off and throw the pieces and the MG in your "parts box".

Trucks are made to move cargo and personnel. Fighting ME-109's or Zero's are just incidental.

Or P-47's like the incident where two Thuds straffed a convoy of U.S. troops in France and AA fire from our trucks shot down one of our P-47's. Over 100 guys died in the straffing, and one pilot. In war S- - t happens. :?

I still want two or more WC-51's.

Hey - you still might get a discount due to the cracked part.

Be carefull of the 'canopy rail'. Mine broke at the bottom where it meets the truck. I had to 'dig' out the broken pieces, and glued them back on using tweazers and a magnifying glass. Then I looked at it again with the problem that Spec_Spidey is having...that even the bbi soldier sits higher tban the windsheild. Trying to 'wiggle' the soldier, the gear shift broke. After that happened, I made up my mind...it's goin' back...sigh....

Yeah, I ended up breaking a pedal off trying to get a figure to sit in it right. After that, I decided it will just be a parked display with paras using it as cover or loading it up. As for the canopy rails, well I took them off as soon as I opened it and I am leaving them off since they interfere with the .50 cal.

Well,....I just took mine out of the box,.....cause,..I said to myself,...."Oh",...."what the hell",....it's time to play ! ,.....and I must say,....mines perfect ! ......Despite the negatives about it,..."it's a real piece of work",..IMHO ! .....If anybody else wants to experiment w/ the MG,...w/ the option of leaving it on,...and canopy left on,... I suggest swinging it over to the passenger side,...in such a way it does not interfere w/ the Driver. 8) :P

I just picked up my first new Dodge truck last night. If any on you have the S1 Sherman, try using the tanker. ( The little guy wearing the leather football helmet.) If you bend his knees to normal sitting position, he'll fit almost perfectly. He actually looks through the windshield instead of over it. I'm going to work on breaking off the seats and moving them back for more leg room.

You're gonna have to pop the canopy rail off if you want any riders in the back...their heads are above the rail...
