I think doing the canopy frame in resin would be a mistake. It would have to be very out of scale in thickness to be strong enough, and would look kinda clunky on such a nice model.

Agree. Can you not find a way to laser cut some styrene, then the customer can just bend the styrene to shape?

The resin frame worked well with my Horten and it was plenty thin.

The resin on the Ho-229 and the Stuka Mathew did came out great I think. I dont care myself, as long as I have the clear canopy I can cut thin sheets and make my own frame if needed. I dont even care if it opens...

Not much to update. I've been working on a couple large orders for covers. Getting the $$ saved up to purchase the fiberglass and resin. Shaped the canopy and worked on wing fillets last weekend. Should have the covers wrapped up this week and can get back on the 183.

Took a little time over the weekend to test the panel line tape. I think it worked very well. First pic is a comparison between the 1/48 model and 1/18. Then the top and bottom. Things are getting back to normal, so I hope to get the wing fillets sanded this weekend. Till then....

I've been mainly working on building reserves to purchase the fiberglass and resin I'll need to cast the fuselage and wings, so I haven't made a ton of progress to post pictures of.
Once I am caught up things should move faster. Which brings me the ultimate question. Who is truly interested? At this point it can become a production kit or a one off depending on the interested. I tried to think of different scenarios to price the kit to accommodate everyone's interest. I know I can't make everyone happy, but it's worth a try.

This is what I've came up with so far. Let me know if it's in the ball park.

The engine detail is the inside of the landing gear bay. The exhaust detail will come with all the versions. Pickle is sending me a resin of the Jumo exhaust he used in the Horten.

The Landing gear will be metal and retractable at this point. I don't see why it couldn't be.

Sliding canopy on the versions that have it. If I can acquire the 21st Stuka pilot I will include that.

Maybe we could have a poll for the paint scheme?

Actually, you should consider that the engine is quite visible in the Ta 183: it sits in between the main gear bays, and there were no plans to blank off the gear bays from the engine compartment (a similar situation exists in the FW 190D and Ta 152, where the median part of the main wheel wells lacks a roof, exposing the rear part of the engine; and in the Me 262, the absence of a blanking plate in the center of the main wheel wells allows one to see straight into the fuselage). I agree about the pilot though - don't need a pilot.

I plan to detail the engine compartment as much as possible.

I am surprised no one wants a pilot. That seams to be the biggest let down when a new plane comes out. I was throwing in the pilot for that reason.

The prices I suggested were based on selling ten of any combination.

I'm in for the full kit as long as the landing gear retracts. If they don't I dont need landing gear as I hang all my aircraft.

I'm definitely in on this as well. It would have to be the full plane for me, engine, landing gear, canopy, etc. I can't decide if I want a kit or a full build, but if this gets truly under way, then I'll make up my mind quickly

No need for a pilot with me as well - I have a spare Stuka pilot that I got to originally go in my Pickelhaube HO-229, only it didn't fit quite as well as I wanted so I wound up using a spare FW-190 pilot.

Spent time from the last post Filling in the nicks and dings. I've got everything smoothed out. Need to add the gun ports and panel lines. Then the molding process begins. Sorry for the messy work bench.
